Big fan of ACURA and MDX. Not a fan of how they design pipes that connect to exhaust. When vehicle is seen from behind at low height one can see those pipes look like after thought something that would fall apart and cables hanging near suspension/brakes area. Not a good job of tucking or hiding those pipes and cables in the underpinnings. Compared to Germans, Koreans, Nissan, Mazda, they all do a good job of positioning & hiding stuff underneath. Acura/Honda Lexus/Toyota need to do a better clean up. Car should be beautiful outside, inside and underneath!

While some angles do give me Mazda vibes(not a bad thing, it is a huge upgrade in design over the current model. Acura could not push the envelope too far as to not offend their base, but did enough to attract those that are in the market in this class. But Acura has to bring it because I have a feeling that new Genesis GV80 is about to shake up the mid-luxury class like the Kia Telluride did for its class. This does look promising(and I'm hoping for more RWD-biasing from the SH-AWD for better handling.

I completely and totally disagree! WE DO NOT NEED A TOUCHSCREEN EVER. Touch screens are more dangerous than playing with your phone. They are distracting and make you lose your focus on driving. The ACURA TRUE TOUCHPAD is the safest style on the road! Let's get off the touchscreen kick. Not necessary and dangerous! I was in a high-end Cadillac recently and it took me three searches on a touchscreen, while driving! to find a way to change the air flow! Very distracting.

I truly hope for the sake of Honda (Acura) that they get the MDX right. The 2003 1st generation my dad bought was horrible: it pinged on premium, after a couple of years ALL of the vent regulators fell off, the rear AC died, one of the electric seat heaters died, it handled numbly like a 1970 Ford van, and the fuel economy never topped 15 mpg in a mix of city-highway driving.

This is nice! I can imagine the Type-S will have dark and sporty wheels, and dark chrome surrounding the grill with dark chrome accents on the body. It seems like the Type-S would have closer to 400hp than what the current specs are saying. The hp rating is in range of the GV80 so maybe it'll be ok.

Hmm, the 550 hp and torque for the Type S do not appear to be very appealing. Unless the engine setup is lighter, their isn't much of a point unless they are under estimating specs. I'd asume the 3. 5l with the new 10 speed can hit 60 in around 6 flat. the Type S may be hitting 5. 5 seconds. +

My boss bought a Acura suv a few years ago that was a base model. It didn't have leather and was sparse in features. It was well equipped with safety features. Maybe the base models are not going to be so barron thus increasing the starting priced. This is another great video.

dunno yet about the exterior, the interior looks nice that was something that kept me from looking at the last generation mdx when i was shopping for my crossover. acura is really stepping things up because that genesis gv80 moved things up a notch or two.

The MDX doesn t necessarily have 355 hp in the press release it says estimate and a lot of reviews are over looking that and it also says estimate for the TLX which mean the hp and tq rating could be higher in the production model.

Acura is updating their lineup with in-house components and Infiniti is getting ready to expand and update it's lineup (possibly with their new in-house 9 speed) we could be looking at the rebirth of japanese luxury.
