Calling an SUV a coupe is just a result of years and years of marketing efforts from car manufacturers trying to redefine their products to make more profit than they would with only ACTUAL perfomance coupes, based on sedans. It used to be one of the most enthusiastic words on the car glossary, today its pulled as a trick to sell SUVs. We've been conditioned to accept these as coupes, even if, by the car shape, is a correct term. But still, a baller/rich mommy SUV first and foremost. Thats the fact that should prevail.
Do you really believe that Porsche would dare to make a coupe-like performance SUV 20 years ago? They changed the definitions, for absolute profit.
Even though we know its just a fad, think about it: there are actual enthusiasts of Coupe-SUVs around the world, because of the lack of other niches being that relevant, and due to manufacturers taking such low risks that they won't bet on regular-sized cars anymore. Could any car enthusiast ever think of something like that happening?

Strictly speaking it-s not a Coupe, it-s an SUV Coupe, does that sound right, and essentially your paying more for less as per usual in cars in this price bracket, more for less, really, you-d willingly hand over more just to have the latest must have car, but I guess if money isn-t an issue then why not? -

I just don't get sporty SUV's (sporty sports utility vehicle) and I really don't get coupe sporty sports utility vehicles. its just taking an idiotic idea just that little bit further.
Of course it's just a matter of waiting now for the soft top version of the sporty sports utility coupe.

having a new Cayenne as my daily drive, the new Coupe makes absolutely no sense to me. I would like to hear the reasons for going down the coupe route as opposed to the regular Cayenne. answer: -looks-. hmmm. really? AND you can't even specify a opening panoramic roof. the mind boggles.

And another thing, how often have you seen these four up with a roof Box covered in dirt or indeed towing anything, I know it-s not the cars fault but Chelsea Tractor is an apt name for them because that-s where you see them in city, Towns across the country, a status symbol at best.

They'll call any damn thing a -coupe- these days. Putting a slightly more raked back end on a CUV does not magically make it a coupe, any more than putting all-terrain tires on it makes it a rock crawler.

-As you-d expect that swooping roofline has a positive affect on performance- but then in the next sentence you say that it-s no faster than the standard car? So doesn-t it mean they-re just all fast lol

I don't understand the point of this car. you make another Cayenne, looks the same, performs the same, just take off 20mm of roof line so it's less comfortable and holds less?
