I know this is an old video but i was looking for a great mechanics word on it, my Toyota Tacoma 98 has been having issues starting. I put a brand new battery in it about a month ago since it was cranking but as it would sound like it would be close to starting it would bog out and go silent. Either that or I'd switch the key to ignition and it wouldn't make a sound. I was wondering if that could be a starter issue, or the alternator. The lights and electrical systems don't look dim so I feel it could be the starter but I'm not entirely sure. Basically it either doesn't make a sound when i turn to ignition or when it is in ignition it drowns out and can take a few turns of the key to get it going.
Do you have an idea of what it could be? Thanks in advance, you rock.

Different case, same problem, except changing the 10 amp fuse which read good, fixed the problem and reinstalling the original fuse created the problem over again. Fuse tested good. Found out the fuse element was not fully formed and not allowing enough current through to operate properly. Same as backprobing with the test light didn't allow it to run either. I always swap in a fresh fuse just to eliminate that from happening again. After all, they are made in China!

You can shmooze your buddy with the fancy schmancy diagnostic laptop; or in my case, a poor man's equivalent:
Google 2012 jeep grand cherokee crank but no start,
(0. 56 seconds,
Recall; TIPM Starter/Fuel Relay.
GREAT VID! Great Diagnostic techniques! You guys are Grand Masters!
(you kinda looks like, talks like my buddy Jim H, which reminds me, gotta hit him up, and go grab a beer)

The S word is an acronym for Ship High In Transport. this acronym originated in old England prior the invention of the engine. They hauled manure by sail ships in those days if it was to be transported in distance. They found out that manure that got wet made a hell of a stinking mess. so to prevent manure from getting wet they raised it off of the deck in the cargo holds when transported.

It's nice to have all the new crap in a car/truck etc. but they are SO complicated? I wish they would go back to the 70's and 80's when everything was pretty simple, and a hell of a lot cheaper! I love my 85 Toyota 4X4. Why cant they make them again where people can afford a NEW RIG? I'm sure people would want something that won't cost a months wages to fix them!

Had this problem today at work, except that the jeep dealer, instead of replacing the tipm, they put in a relay and fuse beside the tipm and now the new relay was doing the same fault as the original problem!
