Honda Ridgeline - Rear Brakes mattdimes: Great video! Thanks a ton for this comprehensive brake job video. Very informative and thorough. I'm about to do my own brake job on all 4 wheels of my 2008 Honda Ridgeline. I was told I need rotors and pads on all wheels and was quoted on Carquest Platinum rotors and Carquest Wearever ceramic pads. Maybe you can't (or don't want to give reviews) but if you could just give me a thumbs up or down on those parts I'd appreciate it. Just making sure I wasn't being hosed by the shop. it could be that I don't need all 4 wheels done.

On one of the Hondo jobs I watched today, you made the comment that if you moved south, all you would need is an adjustable wrench. I'm sure that was said tongue in cheek. However you can run but you can't hide. seems like many from the northeast move south, and their vehicles follow. You still have to put with that salt cancer until the customer trades the car or it falls down. Just sayin.

Dont start without a M8 x 1. 25 bolt! This is a critical tip. Without it, I would have been dead in the water on the second side of my break job. The rotor would NOT come off. Using the bolt to press off the rotor is impossible without the less-than-a-buck bolt from the hardware store or Home Depot. Id go to large store (E. g, Home Depot) with a decent selection on METRIC Bolts

Eric I have to ask, are the brake pads you installed the Platinum Pro pads from Advanced Auto? If so don't you find that they leave an significant amount of brake dust? I installed these pads along with the Advanced Auto Premium rotors on a 2015 Ford Edge and 2010 Acura MDX and on both vehicles these pads leave make a ton of brake dust. Thanks, Eric

Appreciated and enjoyed the video on Honda Ridgeline rear brake rotor and pads. I can appreciate the particular attention you paid to the calcium and the problems it presents in maintaining a vehicle up north. You are more than welcome to bring your crescent wrench with you when you retire and move down south with the rest of us. Thanks.

Hey, thanks for the video! I will be tackling this project soon. If I am just a DIYer without air tools, what do you recommend to use to clean the wheel studs and hub face? Also, any recs on which pads and rotors to buy? Thanks again.

I like seeing a mechanic that does a quality job. No short cuts to save time. I would use you in a heartbeat if you were a mechanic near me. Im sure everyone watching loves your videos. Always a job well done Best of Luck.

This afternoon I redid my rear brakes and took extra time to clean the rust off the brackets. What a difference it makes! The pads actually slide instead of needing a hammer to get them into place. THANKS!

Thanks Eric. You just saved me a bunch of money. Your instructions are right on. Oh, BTW, when you state 'factory spec for tightness, it would be a big help if you said how many foot pounds etc. Thanks.

Great video, loved the step by step commentary. Didn't know there was so much cleaning and lubricating during a brake job. You seem to have a little disdain for the State of New York!
