I have a look at a 2011 Chevy 2500HD 6. 6 with the Allison transmission that would not shift. The local Chrysler dealer replaced the trans for other issues but ended up with this problem after the replacement

I work on Duramax trucks every day. This is more common than u think. Unplug a connector, plug it back in and BAM everything works. Its a nightmare. Ive got an 05 that would not start. Codes for all 8 injector circuits and both Group circuits. Verified fuel to pump. Was leaning towards FICM. Started ohming wires from FICM to injectors and they all ohm perfect. Plug FICM back up, turn the key and she starts. Now I cant get it not to start. Wiggle harnesses and wires and she runs like a top. So u wanna work on cars? Diesels? Itll be fun.

Forgive me if I missed it. Did the truck stay fixed? I know older video. Catching up, missed a few. When I worked on electronics in dad's shop, Zenith TV's had old models of tv's that we called upright chassis. The tabs on the modules would loosen up and we'd go in and bend the little tabs back in and clean and good as new. I vote for bad pin fitment. We saw lots of bad pins in the business, some bent over or broken. Made diagnosis easy.

Just a friendly suggestion, you may be helped by getting a power probe. I use the Snap-On gen 3 probe (no, I do not work for Snap-on. I did the whole the test light isn't lighting, does the tool have a sufficient ground? thing. With the power probe there is no doubt and it will display the voltage of the circuit you are testing. What does a 14. 5 volt test light look like in comparison to a 7. 2 volt test light in light intensity?

charge them like they would charge you when you bring the vehicle into them because the deal is a very very high. My work a pull the dash on a Chrysler and it was in lymph node we sent it to the dealer and they charge us 200 bucks and I watch them and it took them 20 minutes to fix it and that's what they charge me so don't be afraid to charge. You are the specialist. You are not the ordinary doctor so you get the big bucks.

My wifes heater control valve blew apart 4 months ago, so far, Ive replaced it, done a full flush including the thermostat, and replaced the heater core last weekend and still no heat, and if Ive done my homework, Im guessing its the blend door actuator, what do you think it might be, any input is really appreciated, my bride needs heat because its getting cold here in bossier city, la. Thanks in advance sir!

If I had to pay for the education you've given me, I'd be broke. I
'm relegated to working on friends' vehicles, and anything built after 2003 kinda scares me.
But I just bought a new OBD2 scanner to supplement my old Snap-on brick ---> which wont cover the newer stuff.
I can only hope to recoup the money spent on it before I die (which may be any day now)
Thanks. I think!

Let's see here, did you last try, and do the wiggle test by the connectors, & the wiring harness and also do wiggle test by the TCM - - - just to make sure,
But if it's too much to deal with, then I understand,
call it a fix, & ship it down the road! Thank you for the VID, MR. SMA.

If your looking to buy a vehicle and the transmission has electrical wires going to it, walk away. Transmissions are hydraulic pumps that do not require electricity to operate. Engineers are overpaid pants loads trying to justify their existence by screwing over the common man.

My Honda needs work but I am 72 and kind of crippled up and dont really do much anymore and youre the only person I trust. The dealer sucks, the independents arent that good. The problem is I live about 1700 miles away.

I REALLY hate it when a vehicle fixes itself! Not really since you fixed it just by removing a connector and reconnecting it, but you know what I mean. Now, did it really need a transmission?
