Great job Eric, over here in the UK we are used to working on poop, like this, we have to buy the full housing, thermostat not sold separately, we can't even buy the safe guard oil filter used on Vauxhall cars unless from main stealers at approx 40 bucks with tax, much cheaper over there in the US, Fram won't import it to the UK, Thermostat housing about 190 dollars, very common for temperature switch failure and fan wiring green crusties

Isn't that just an unnecessary complication on a wax pellet thermostat? Surely the heat from the coolant makes the thermostat open so why have a heater? If the water isn't hot enough then the thermostat should stay closed until the engine/coolant is up to temperature. Do we really need such a device? Good video as always, stay safe.

You would think that since automobiles have been around so long that the engine compartment would be easier to work in. NOPE! Car manufacturers apparently don't care about the customer and are willing to screw him out of a few more dollars for expensive repairs. Throw in a few more costly computers.

What's the point of the heater in the thermostat? Thought that was the point of the fluid in the cooling system. I guess they couldn't make enough on mechanical thermostats. If it ain't broke, fix it until it is. -AVE- and also -Auto manufacturers-. Only one of them was being sarcastic.

In Australia we called them Holden Cruze, back in the day. sometimes we saw lean exhaust codes if the oil filler cap wasn't fitted correctly. Oil stain on the valve cover and lean exhaust dtc.
They were designed by Germans and built by Koreans. R. I. P. Holden.

I think if you own a Cruze (Like I do. Turbo version) you should probably buy a 3000 scan tool to go with it. My neighbour suggested I might wear out the hood hinges on the damn thing! Owning one of these you either get to be a great mechanic or you go broke!

2 cars go by, rush over, sounds like my town. Who opened the flood gates! Great diagnose. I can't believe how complex these cars are nowadays. My '64 C10 with a crate 350, I need a timing light, dwell meter and a screwdriver to tune it practically!

Very well done, very professional without all the entertaining quips and comments. Just like 2015. Thanks. again, you have done a great job. Using others to turn the wrenches is a good idea, and I am sure the camera work will improve as time goes.

Has anyone tried the blue coolant that the Japanese car manufacturers are using now in replacement of this Dexcool?
Less residue problems and stuff like that just wondering if anyone else has tried that? All the best from Canada
