I had a question. I have a 2020 Hyundai Sonata 1. 6 T. Wonderful little car. Just peppy enough and zippy enough to get me around slow drivers. My question is. The other day after grabbing some food I was in the parking lot eating watching another SMA video I suddenly started smelling a burning wire smell. It was faint so I didn't really pay that much attention to it. But after a while it became really noticeable. Should I be worried if my car randomly starts having a burning wire smell? Anyone out there know if there is a way I could do a quick visual to see if I could spot anything burning? I have an appointment with the dealer but I don't trust them. So if I can pinpoint it myself and show it to them when I bring it in there is a higher chance of getting it repaired. More often than not I'm always told Could not duplicate or that they could not find it and that I shouldn't worry about it. And unfortunately I'd have to take vacation time to take my car up to Mr. O to get an honest diagnosis that's worth the it and I could trust. Also, I have a very loud noise driving I think to be the hub bearing on the wheel. It's a fast thumping noise. And sometimes sounds like a whining noise. I'm just trying to do some homework so I can take some solid evidence to the dealership and they don't return with the annoying Could not duplicate message. Appreciate any help the community could offer.

I bought a 84 Dodge Ram four wheel drive from my dad was fixing the oil pan gasket and found a bunch of metal in it so I was looking around to see what engines I had and the only one was a 440 magnum I looked around found a bell housing and a flywheel I managed to squeeze it in with only one dent in the valve cover so it would clear the brake booster and pushing electric fans to keep it cool and I had a84 440 4 barrel 4speed four wheel drive talk about torque it would climb a tree if you let it and right after I had it done and sorted out a winter snow hit the area and I made money with the winch I had on the front and the bumper was a welding project that was probably a bit heavy on the pickup but I was not afraid to push trees down with it and when the snow was deep enough to high center a lot of cars I was busy getting them out of ditches but it was not very good on fuel economy I was asked about what I got pulling my trailer with a car on it to a race track in the state north of us and I said it gets nine miles to the gallon with or without the trailer it really didn t care about the load it was pulling I miss the old pickup but I had rebuilt it from totaled twice and it was showing some cracks in the frame. First was after my dad caught it on fire the second was when my roommate rolled it over two times my mother asked me what was original in it and I had to list the frame and the

Well Mr. O I just happen to be digging into that 4. 3 to 5. 7 conversion as we speak. It's a 1994 so the cluster is different. Not sure about the rev limiter on the pre-95 trucks. If you happen to see this comment and know the answer, a reply would be greatly appreciated. I want to add that truck to the burn pile but my dad gave it my son and he won't part with it.

The night light on my radio went out over two years ago. I didn't feel like pulling the radio to see what was wrong, so there I was without a lit radio at night for well over two years. The other night I got sick of not seeing the time on the radio at night, so I gave it a good shot with my knuckle. LET THERE BE LIGHT!
BTW: Always nice to hear Mrs. O.

I drove with a baseball bat in the passenger s seat all through high school to start up my blower fan on my 94 Silverado. Sometimes had to use it under the hood to hit the AC compressor wire connection. Had my girlfriend (now wife) trained to give it a good kick every time she got in the car. She quit wearing sandals after a couple weeks

I have often assumed that DC motors that restart with the Fonzarelli Method, were actually suffering from a stuck brush. a bit of gumming or crud holding a brush off the commutator and the shock loosens the brush, contact is reestablished and off they go for another couple of years.
Case in point 2010 Forester electric window motors

I was expecting to see a mouse nest when you pulled that blower out. Back when I was wrenching in Michigan it was common to clean a mouse house out of blowers. My wife had a 89 Acclaim that I cleaned out twice in one winter. One day she said a mouse ran up the outside of the windshield when she was half way to work!

They do make some way cool trim clip pliers that remove those clips holding that kick panel in place not to mention tons of the underhood and body trim clips.
Less than 20 last time I bought a pair, worth their weight in gold IMO.
Don't you have an ACDelco Wholesaler in your area to draw OEM Delco parts from?

Man Eric how can we know for certain that this fixed the issue when you never assured us that you torqued it to spec? Now there are going to be people putting in their blower motor and having it fall off while driving down the road causing them to wreck because they didn't know it needed to be torqued to spec

I appreciate the little tool kit and the little Eric O scope. They will be perfect for my auto repair business where I make house calls and ride to the jobs on my bicycle due to fuel costs.
I've always been taught to 'think big' but due to the changing tides, I think it's now time to 'think small'.

Those bearings are technically called bushings and rarely last a long time. When they start failing, they will require a lot more startup torque to spin. A drop of oil might make it work another year or so but not the most reliable repair method for a garage and customer. Nice replacement part.

Had a '95 Cheyenne std. cab 8 ft. bed with the 4. 3 and a cap. very nice truck! I have a picture on my desktop and look at it quite often. Me and the misses had a lot less back then but put a lot of miles on it heading to the Wisconsin northwoods pulling sleds or a trailer with the camping gear.

I did do it, now I am retired. By the way my 1990 chevy pickup with the 4. 3 v-6 5 speed shifter is sitting in the driveway with over 350k on the odometer. Okay I changed motor at 250k and heads 100k later. Still runs good and is only used to make lumber yard runs. Nice video Don
