The only thing I change engines on is lawnmowers. Even then as they get newer more wiring. Best thing with them though is you can delete nearly all of it and the things still work. I couldn't work on these modern vehicles. Don't have the patience. Time someone came out with a real World battery. Then we can get rid of all this electronic emissions crap and just go all electric. Don't pratt around. Have a motor driving each wheel. Make them easy to swap out. We already have the motors. Just toy batteries that cost the earth. Overcome that and we could have some pretty sweet vehicles that could even go somewhere. Make them all capable of supplying household power in a blackout. And get the price down to a realistic level. I see the first small sodium cars came out the other day. Promising or not. Can't be worse than lithium. Make sure your fire insurance is up to date.

Black and tan is not a type of beer. A black and tan (a half and half in Ireland) is a draft beer poured into a pint beer glass with a pale ale (like Harps) on the bottom and layered with a dark beer (like Guinness stout) on top. When poured correctly, the beer does not mix and is layered in the glass. If the bartender doesn't know how to pour the beer so it doesn't mix, a spoon can be used with the convex side up so that the beer stream is spread out over the spoon and is poured more gently into the glass.

My wife s 2012 SRX with the big 3. 6L has less than 97000km on it. She never drives it in winter conditions so it sits for six months each year, she always keeps it indoors and starts it up a few time over the the winter months. The maintenance is done as per schedule and any major repairs done by the Caddie dealer. Good car but to many issues with the ECM that was changed out and lots of sensors go bad.

I wonder if any spy types are using latched spring hose clamps as torture devices? If they release a latched one against the tip end of finger it is almost enough to make a grown aged technician with decades of bumped/scraped/burned digits pass out. I'd confess for the first threat. The unknowing would get the first one released before they talked.

Its almost criminal what Cadillac has done to their customers. They lost a generation of fans with the 4100 motor, then along came the Northstar and its blown head gasket issues. When you remove a few bells and whistles it looks like a rear wheel drive Cobalt, which must be scarry in that heavy NY snow. Keep up the fine work Mr O.

I have the same exact one but I chose to pick the 3. 6 not the 4 cylinder turbo for this exact reason demanding to much power from a 4 cylinder with a turbo of course something going to give these designers know exactly what there doing. always buy naturally aspirated engine if you have the choice.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. You are a better man than me, Mr. O. Any job under a hood that requires a spreadsheet just to keep track of the different fasteners used to hold the plastic shields on the car is a job I would run away from. Great job taking us along on this journey.

When this engine first came out and these cars were new to the market, GM released a bulletin for the techs to basically run the p! ss out of these cars because they had bad engine bearings from the factory. I did a handful of them and it was the most fun work I ever did on a Cadillac!

Eric, once Scotty sees this video he is going to have a field day about bashing Generous Motor products. Love this series. If this was a 1970 Cadillac you would have already pulled and replaced the engine. Amazing at the amount of electric circuitry in cars now. Scary

Since plastic and aluminum are used to make the car light and get better gas mileage, why not use velcro instead of nuts and bolts? Just push the two adjoining pieces together and voila! No heavy engine mounts needed and much easier to take apart when need be.

Enjoy the video. Don't worry about what some people think. Do as you want. Wow, I have pulled a lot of older motors. Enjoyed doing it. I don't enjoy changing parts on newer ones. Never do a motor. Do not have the patience. Keep up the good work.

That 2015 ATS looks like a clean, low-mileage car. How many miles does the present engine have on it? The GM V-6 engines in these cars have a reputation for being troublesome, and I suppose that 2. 5 four cylinder engine would be no different.

Another car that has been at another shop. I wonder how accurate their diagnosis was? How many times has Mr. O reinspected another shops results and found something else was the problem? The reason for the engine change wasn t stated.
