Sell your car for free with Carwow: It’s time for an almighty petrol vs electric drag race! We’ve finally got our hands on the all-new, all-electric Lotus Eletre R, and it’s about to face off against Yianni’s Lamborghini Urus Performante! So let’s check out the stats. Starting with the Lotus, two electric motors power it, and these combine to produce an incredible 905hp and 985Nm of torque! Power is sent to all four wheels, and this almighty EV tips the scales at 2, 640kg! It’s pretty pricey though, rolling up with a starting price of 120, 000. But that starting price is nothing compared to the Lambo, which rolls up with a starting price of 209, 000! Under the bonnet, you’ll find a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 which can put down 666hp. It’s a fair bit lighter than the Lotus, weighing in at 2, 150kg. So the Lotus is well up on power, but it’s also well up on weight! Will the half-tonne weight difference prove decisive There’s only one way to find out for sure LET’S RACE!

See, this is why I'm not particularly interested in most modern electric cars, they try to be too smart when they really aren't. Not that I would ever use launch control or drift mode 6 times a day, but for god's sake car, if I press the button to tell you to launch, you shut up and launch
And that goes for many safety features too: I rented one of those ones, and the lane assist almost made me crash. I had to quickly dodge a car that had an issue on the highway, I didn't have time to indicate, it tried to keep me on the lane because it noticed my indicator-less lane switch before it noticed the car I was about to crash into.

EV’s are gay, and OP cars in general are kind of gay. It’s like wow your car has 900hp and shifts itself You must be such a good driver! Don’t get me wrong, spend your money on and drive what you want, you earned it, but it’s just a little soft. That’s all.
reply

All that rubbish about launch control, clutch temps and have you been skidding. doesn’t make me want an EV in the slightest! LOTUS please stick to making smaller performance, good handling cars like your used too!
reply

So apparently, Lotus is good car, by the fact, it's let the driver doing whatever he want. like, when you turn of the stability control, it's just gone wild.
Alright then, let's get some money for this car.

Lotus Eletre: an EV with the computers programmed by the typical petrolhead Lotus engineer.
(Don't get me wrong, I sort of like it to watch an EV behaving like an ICE supercar during the launches)

I don't even understand how off means off for traction control works in an EV. Does that mean mashing the accelerator just sends full current and voltage to the motors That's completely mental.

The URUS really isn’t that fast. The JEEP TRACKHAWK and DURANGO HELLCAT will beat Urus for 1/3rd the price. The Urus has a higher top speed due to less drag however but by then the race is over.
reply

That's why I love my Tesla Model 3 Performance. it costs peanuts compared to these cars but It still does 1/4 mile in 11. 5s consistently without any nonsense launch control.

Next time, follow the advice of Deadpool when you have rain, a 900hp EV SUV with almost the worst possible tyres for the conditions and wear brown pants.
reply

If you need half of Lotus (not the Chinese that actually knows how it’s working) to describe and help you to launch, is there a problem Hell yes
reply

When I saw Urus I hoped it was Yianni. it was Yianni. I saw that it was wet and I thought it would be fun. It wasn't much. It was dangerous!
reply

I think it’s so embarrassing Lamborghini and Ferrari are being killed by electric cars. This may make them less desirable to some people.
reply

Yannie spoilt this video by complaining 2 much. Relax or leave ur car at home. I enjoy him on the show but this video was 2 much!
reply

However bad the tantrums the Lotus threw, it did beat an Urus Performante every single time when it considered its own launch failed.
reply

Take the badge off the Lamborghini and put it on the Lotus, the lotus is the new beast and the lambo is the boring old man’s car
reply

break system in lotus you test car was 6piston its can add cabon ceramic breaks 10piston option and the result maybe not the same
reply

EV are fast in a straight line, if they can stay in a straight line. Nobody would choose the Eletre over the Urus, the end
