Compare the best new & used car deals with Carwow: Meet the all-new Aston Martin DB12 Volante! Mat’s got his hands on this new drop-top GT, and he’s about to see how this car has evolved compared to the DB11 Volante, while also seeing if it can compare with class leaders like the Roma Spider! For starters, let’s check out the exterior design, and it’s no surprise that it looks absolutely fantastic! The rear end may be relatively similar to the DB11, but that’s no bad thing! It’s slightly wider than the previous edition, and the new tail light design looks absolutely great. Along the side, the car comes with 21-inch alloys, and it also comes with pop-out door handles, aggressive side skirts and frameless side mirrors. Along the front, the car has had a total design overhaul. The clamshell bonnet is gone, and it’s instead made of several different panels. There are loads of vents, matrix LED headlights, and the trademark huge grille at the front. Step inside and the interior’s had a total overhaul. There’s an all-new infotainment system, and redesigned centre console with loads of physical buttons and rollers, and naturally the interior is covered in swathes of leather and aluminium panels. The seats are also super comfortable, but don’t expect adults to fit into the rear seats! Under the bonnet, you’ll find an AMG 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can produce 680hp and 800Nm of torque. This power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and Aston Martin claims it can hit 60mph in 3. 6 seconds. The all-new DB12 Volante starts from 205, 000, but is it worth it Stick with Mat to see for yourself! Mate, you’re completely lying about the time it takes to get the roof up. It starts at 10: 36, then yoy say it takes about 15 seconds. Now watch how long it takes for the clock to go from 2 to 3, 5 to 6, 7 to 8, 10 to 11 and from 12 to 13.
I retimed it and your 15 seconds is in reality 19 ) seconds. It starts to feel like a typical British thing to do, because the old Top Gear guys also favored any British car.
Why are you doing that mate You can’t fool us.
If you people want to find it out yourself. Go to 10: 53, then do a double tap on the left side of the screen. Then you will go back 10 seconds in the video. Now the clock is on 00: 15 on 10: 53. On 10: 42 the clock is at 00: 06

The AM has always been gorgeous, its paint is flawless. Wider is better! This model is even cooler than the one it replaces. US buyers are aware of the car’s mechanical or electrical issues. It’s a shame really bc the car deserves the standing it commands when you see it up close. I’ve always dreamed of having an Aston, in lieu of a Ferrari or some other expensive supercar. It’s just beautiful. I hope AM stays with the V8 and continues to improve on this incredible work of art.

Videos are great for information but I can’t stand how Matt always kicks and scrapes his dirty trainers in literally every car review, on this one when he climbed in the back he kicked it multiple times and when he got in the boot he left a foot print on rubber boot seal so hard to watch on such nice cars

One little suggestion I think could improve the reviews. When you are choosing to avoid, consider, shortlist or buy could you mention a couple of alternatives that are better/worse as appropriate and how they are better or worse

Simply stunningleaves the Roma for dead from every angle. and now with more power, a spectacular interior, modern infotainment system. and no ridiculous Ferrari haptic buttons. Don’t park your Roma next to this.

Other than those early DB7 models with the cheap looking taillights Aston has made a lot of beautiful models throughout the decades. This is just another page in the book, I love the DB11 and this DB12.

I’m so happy to see with the new Astons and I think it’s the 130 defender The return of actual buttons! Not just putting everything on a screen that can’t be used properly whilst driving

That radar thing looks ugly. but other than that it's a great car!
Would love to see a comparison of it with with Bentley Continental GT and Ferrari 496 GTS and maybe a Porsche 911.

I might not be the only one but kinda notice the quality of the video is worse than before and i think its bcs carwow is using a phone instead of a standalone camera.

I'm going to buy this used in about 4 years! I love everything about this new design! Wish the steering wheel was a little more sporty though, that boi chunky! hahaha

Not that I was in the market for such a type of car, but an Aston with a 12 in its name, but no V12 engine (let alone a puny 4 litre. not interested.

The auto cruise flap on the front is hideous. Literally looks like somebody slapped on a piece of random plastic to cover a rust spot.
reply

I've come to the point where as soon as I hear 4. 0 twin turbo V8.
It's a shame there's only two engines in every super cars these days.

reply

Really hope they sell a bunch of these and they come down on the used market, would love to get one in a few years but not that price xD
reply

this technology could have easily been embedded in the DB11. But they waited to release another model to make you buy it as a 'new' model
reply

1: 29 Kindly, it is Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 not 5 S succeeded by AML inscription which denotes that it is an Aston Martin specific tire.
reply

We should have reached a point where Car manufacturers finally realized that touch buttons on the steering wheel are a bad idea!
