Sell your car for free with Carwow: It’s time for an all-American DRAG RACE! Mat’s lining up in a Ford Mustang, and he’s about to go head-to-head against a 2008 Dodge NASCAR! But which will come out on top - Dodge, or Ford Well for starters, let’s check out the stats. The NASCAR is powered by a 5. 9-litre naturally-aspirated V8 that can deliver 900hp and 730Nm of torque (although it’s currently producing around 700hp. This power is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual gearbox, and the car weighs in at just 1, 400kg. In terms of monetary value, it’s worth around 100, 000. Then alongside it, we have the road-going Ford Mustang. This is powered by a 5-litre naturally-aspirated V8 that can produce 451hp and 527Nm. This power is sent to the rear wheels only via a 10-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and the car tips the scales at 1, 843kg. If you’re looking to pick one up now, it’ll cost around 50, 000. So will the newer Mustang win it Or will the NASCAR power to victory There’s only one way to find out LET’S RACE! Thanks to BACKFIRE-MEDIA for joining us with their NASCAR!

The amount of misinformation and american car shaming in the comments is insane. So here's a little bit of information for anyone not just blindly hating on american cars:
The Mustang GT shown in the video is a 2018-2023 Gen 6 car. Ford has released the new Gen 7 Mustang this year, which makes 500hp in the US and 455hp in Europe due to regulations. The Mustang either uses a 6-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed torque converter automatic with rear wheel drive. The naturally aspirated 5. 0L V8 in this base model Gen 6 Mustang makes 450hp at the crank. The Cupra has the advantage of being lighter, all wheel drive and a 7-speed dual clutch transmission. This helps the car to gain much more traction and shift much quicker, which is why it gets off the line quicker.
Overall this might leave the impression that the Mustang is slow in comarison, but a 80hp difference between the Mustang and Cupra are just not enough to get rid of the negative side affects of a imbalanced rear wheel drive, front engine car - no matter which country it comes from.
Some people might think that this goes to show how much more advanced German engineering is comapred to American engineering, but I can asure you that it has nothing to do with that. Ford is very well able to create a Mustang that could easily keep up with many high end sports cars, but that's not the point of the Mustang. People would be outranged (as they were with the Mustang Mach-E) if Ford changed the formula of the car and gave it all wheel drive and a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. That's just not a Mustang anymore and wouldn't sell. However, Ford as definitely proven that they're capable of building high end sports cars, which the Ford GT with it's 650hp 3. 5 V6 is proves. Somehow people always tend to forget such cars when they talk about american cars in Europe.
On top of that the Mustang is a relatively cheap car, as it is a sports car for the people more than anything else. It's a fun car, that isn't after creating the best lap times or efficiency. It's about fun and emotions and no Mercedes, Audi, BMW and especially no Cupra delivers that in the same way as a Mustang - at least in my opinion. It's like listening to Guns n Roses compared to Taylor Swift. This is also why it's the most sold sports car ever.
In regards to the 5. 0L V8 Coyote engine as Ford calls it. This is not just any old V8 that's made in a barn 70 years ago. It's one of the most reliable and best regarded modern V8 engines of all time. It's cheap and it's easy to gain a lot of power out of it as Ford and Shelby have shown. Here's a lineup of cars with this engine and how much power they make:
Mustang GT Gen 6: 450HP
Mustang GT Gen 6 Bullit / Mach1: 460HP
Mustang GT Gen 7 Dark Horse: 500HP
Shelby GT 350R (Gen6 Mustang): 533HP
Shelby GT 500 (Gen6 Mustang): 771HP
Ford Mustang GTD Gen7: 800HP
Shelby GT500 (Gen6 Mustang) KR: 920HP
Shelby GT500 (Gen6 Mustang) Code Red: 1300HP

To be fair the NASCAR machine needs to be moving as it has very different gear ratio. I hate having to stick up for Fiat, such a junk company but fair is fair and the FoMoCo has a huge and unfair advantage. Personally that NASCAR Fiat belongs in a junkyard right beside all the 10 year old Rams and Jeeps that Dodges Fiat cousins. As a point how many of those Fiat 500s did they sell, couple million maybe 80% in the junk yard already. Try and find a Ram product over 10 years old on the road today, laughable, but Ford, Chevy and Toyota all have a bunch of 20 to 30 plus vehicles still working everyday. Next time bring a real car to the drag race. What a joke.

I never heard nothing about nascar until I bought fh5 and the I bought the Toyota camry forsberg racing nascar car in that game, I was soo excited to try it out and then it was slower than my tuned vauxhall astra so I just sold that pos, I tought it was a programming failure or smting lol but it seems like those cars are bad bad for drag, small circuit etc.

For street purposesoff the light the little 4 banger would leave the Mustang in the dust. What’s funnier is watching some clown in his Hellcat burning his tires to the cords making a lot of noise while I smoke him in my Model 3 PerformanceLOUD is not the new FAST and never has been
reply

Well this was a bit upsetting for the first time ever for me. I understand the nascar was troubling but did anyone do test runs before the recording of this And secondly the suv afterwards was pretty good, but this didn’t feel carwow-y as the other vids
reply

Brings out a nascar and doesnt do a roll race smh unreal. If you british people knew anything about nascar you would know they are geared for rolling starts. That nascar would have walked that mustang from a roll even if it was a 10mph roll.
reply

This is such an odd carwow video, it feels like this wasn’t meant to be released or something. No sound check, just jarringly starts the race out of nowhere. And the races themselves didn’t seem to go as planned at all
reply

I can’t lie, I don’t enjoy watching Carwow like I used to. I mean, come on, no sound check. I get ur trying to cut production time, but it comes with its drawbacks. I don’t think I’ll b watching more vids
reply

Haven’t watched yet I’m calling dodge if I’m wrong then every like I got is one hotwheels mustang i have to buy. also fun fact dodge was banned from nascar in 1970 after making the Daytona as it was too fast
reply

Dudes got no idea what he's doing. Litteraly doing everything wrong even short shifting into 2nd gear and managing to bog down an N/A V8. Yeah he needs to sell that and buy a corsa. Hes not up for it.
reply

I would love to see another with road race setup with full power, full tank of fuel and an actual driver behind the wheel. He didnt even bother to warm up the tires or air them down for more grip.
reply

That dodge driver was weird. He was just agreeing with what Matt said, but first he said fuel ohh it could be that, could be that as well, it is screaming at me he just didn't know anything
reply

I weighed my pre-facelift manual GT at a truck scales at work and it came in at 1625kg, without me in it and a full tank of petrol. There's no way an auto facelift car is over 200kg heavier.
reply

Wait a second Are you sure the Ford Mustang has a 10 duel clutch automatic gearbox carwow Matt Watson Usually it's a 10 speed torque converter automatic gearbox
reply

I think this video was just to take the piss out of NASCAR. This is not really representative of what they can do. A rolling race would have been more appropriate.
reply

rolling race wasn't fare in my opinion. cupra has 7 gears mustang has 10. it should start in 4th or 5th and cupra in 3th. around the same rpm to start.
reply

6: 20 C'mon, America! Typical Brit. Sleeping while he knows there's a German ready to take his lunch, then screaming to America to come save him.
reply

0: 50 The regular Mustang's automatic is a traditional auto, not a dual-clutch. The only factory Mustang with a dual-clutch is the GT500
reply

German engineering: insane engines, modern technologies, aerodynamics, light weight
Merican engineering: slap wheels and V8 on a coffin

reply

Well, let's see. those NASCAR's have a 4-speed manual tranny geared for 200 mph. You could beat that thing off the line in a Civic Si.
