Sell your car for free with Carwow: This is the new Skoda Superb! It’s the all-new version of Skoda’s big, practical family car, and Mat's going to undertake a vigorous, in-depth review to see if it’s still one of the leading cars in its class. In terms of the design, the Superb is stylish from the front all the way to the rear. The front end has a smart black grille with a chrome surround, and this is flanked by sharp-edged vents. Along the side alloy wheels range between 17 - 19, and a crease runs along the car’s length. There’s a huge Skoda badge at the back, and there are no fake vents or exhausts to be found anywhere! The stylish design continues on the inside, with a large infotainment screen on the centre of the dash as well as a large digital dial display. Eco-friendly materials are used throughout the cabin, although we’re not sure about the strange xylophone-style design on the passenger’s side of the cabin! When it comes to engines, there are two petrol and two diesel available. The entry-level is a 1. 5-litre turbo petrol with 150hp, while there’s also a 2-litre turbo petrol with 265hp. The former only has front-wheel drive, while the 2-litre has all-wheel drive. The two diesels available are 2-litre turbos, and they deliver 150hp or 193hp, depending on which you choose. The Superb starts from around 35, 000, while the car we have here for this review (with options added) costs around 41, 000. So is it the must-have family car Stick with Mat and see for yourself! i mean years ago we would be laughing at skoda cars but nowadays there actually pretty good things to have. what annoyed me though is you have to pay for a wiper and a spare wheel 2 things you rarely see on a brand new car so big up them for providing that and not the usual trye repair kits and so on looks good too. but really skoda should just provide it as standard loads of people will get this though cos its a pratical car and seeing as there not many round now it'll be a awesome thing to have

I own a previous superb (estate. It's really all the car you ever need. One of the few things that always bothered me is how the interior looks a bit simple and cheap compared to similar models. But this new interior honestly looks great! Much better than its VW brothers in my opinion. Well done! (Not a fan of that red color though)

Physical dials. Amen. Nobel peace prize, pulitzer, academy awards. Just shove all those to the person who actually had cleaned his/her ears well enough to hear the screams of pain coming from having to use those damn touchscreen and capacitative touch button abominations. Now the screen in car is actually benefit instead of a punishment.

I like the configurable dials and door umbrella. That's the kind of stuff I love about the VAG. Like our Touareg had split visors you so you could have it both in front and on the side at the same time, the air conditioned glove box or on my Audis having the little sun visor for the space above the rear view mirror.

1: 39 it would look much much better from the side if the bottom line on that last window on the back door ended flat instead of rising, like on Audi, there's kind of too much thickness in that part so it doesn't look slick, that's my main complaint and I can't unsee it.

I own a 2019 Superb and the gearbox sluggishness happens because it holds the 2nd gear even at 10km/h. If you floor it, it changes into 1st and it shoots forward, but if you do like half gas, it just slips the clutch. Both ways, it takes a while.

I'm a 2016 Superb Estate L&K 4x4 280 owner & love the car. However, not sure about the new front grille design & definitely don't like the new car prices - very un-Skoda like. Best bought at 2-3 years old & half the price when new.

Its actually a bit of bland look just above being ugly. It is quite obvious that VW as a company cannot make it look better than a comparable Audi or VW as it would steal sales drastically from those two parts of the company.

I work for skoda and currently drive the new superb as my demo car.
Its honestly brilliant, if you are considering one just get it
The all new kodiaq is brilliant too and the 2024 facelift octavia is amazing as well.

I never understand why the car brands don't send the top spec car. An L&K with all the bells and whistles and the more powerful petrol engine and the adaptive suspension would have been a much better review.

Scoda has nice headlights the air conditioning is controlled by buttons and dials
Audi has F. n screens, and F. n cirtoen headlights for the 2025 model (I hope they fire their whole Audi design team fast)

Why's he so aggressive with cheaper brands and then acts like he does not have any testosterone left when he's around Rolls Royce.
Let that Skoda get at least one more reviewer Matt

As fast Freddie says, he thought it was a 5 series BMW, and unfortunately, near the price of a luxury car. Funny that really as they used to be laughed at.
reply

thos dials are actually really smart. it combines the genius of technology, as well as the convenience of physical knobs. definitely the best system in any car.
reply

I love Matt and his antics but really spilling the water on purpose like that in the engine in car that's not yours is a bit over the top
reply

New Passat with its weedy little engines, or the Superb with the option of decent power plants - plus (imo) a better looking car. No contest.
reply

as a car guy, woudnt buy a Skoda!
I could buy a genesis from hyndai but not from Skoda! as long as they keep these hideous designs

reply

Matt is right about color. Looks amazing, especially when it's sunny. Just got a couple of weeks ago facelift Octavia with the same color.
reply

Never needed rear window wiper on an Octavia given the angle on the liftback version. Actually it looks a bit weird when it is there.
reply

Why YOU need this car! The answer is simple: To support more climate change and destroy more nature than necessary. That's the only reason.
