Suzuki are very reliable up until about 100-120k mile then there fked. I know i have had many of them. I still have my suzuki 2004 estate 1. 6 with 175k miles still runs sweet but despite me mothering it with oil changes every 6 months. Gearbox oil changes and regular services its not a long lasting car. engine is starting to leak oil from headgasket externaly. Gearbox sometimes goes stiff and sometimes its smoothest gearbox ever, i heard gearboxes on these are made in germany. To be fair it has had some hammer and always started up for me and got me to work.

The chap who services my vehicles and virtually all makes, reckons that
any Japanese built car is more reliable than any German built car. The Germans
tend to use a lot more plastic parts instead of metal.
At the moment I run a BMax and a Lexus hybrid. Both very reliable, although
initially the BMax range had auto clutch problems and failing heated windscreens.
Both issues which were fixed under warranty. Overall though, I don't believe a
word of these surveys.

You talk about reliable cars, but I just look for value for money when buying anything.
I understand that there are a lot of guys who just like to act a dick when it comes to driving and buying a car.
But at the end of the day it's really just a way of getting from A to B, and if you start seeing them as anything more than just that you risk losing sight of just what exactly is important in life.

14. 000 is too small a sample once you divide it by all the different models. Also, how has this sample been made? Asking people to participate? That wouldn't be statistically correct. In Germany they make a HUGE survey crossing data from registrations plus ADAC (automobile club) road recovery service plus the TUV (MOT-equivalent) failure reports. That makes a serious data sample.

I have a Dacia Duster Diesel -Comfort-
2016: -) would I buy anything else - NOPE - The Dacia Duster Diesel is just
perfect. NO frills, basic technology, very reliable, very light on fuel,
comfortable, very powerful for such a small capacity engine. All electric
windows, air conditioning, Bluetooth technology, 6 speed gearbox, Dacia for me
is perfect.

For the 'most faults' section LR, Audi, and BMW being the worst (as in most faults reported) is surprising given how expensive they are. Could this be skewed by their owners expecting more from those brands because of how much they paid? e. g something a Dacia owner might not mind so much about, becomes officially listed as a fault from the Audi owner

how can renault and dacia have different rate? they are the same car and they use the same engine the only difference is the logo. How can mini be good and bmw worst, mini's engine is built by bmw. And I'm not sure that the french can build a more reliable car than the Japanese like honda. It's unfair to put a Peugeot beside a honda or Toyota

That-s a bit disappointing what-s the most disappointing is where I-m actually thinking about buying The M5 that-s really disappointing well at least Landrieu it wasn-t as worst but he got third place in the worst one yeah I don-t know why Land Rover doesn-t get such a high reliability rating even though they build cars that are so luxury

Would have expected Toyota and Honda to show up at the top, it seems the new Toyotas are not as reliable although I drive a 19 yr old Toyota Corolla, good car but things do go wrong but costs are not extreme, thers an expression 'If you get the name of an early riser, you can stay in bed all day'

Damn! I have two Toyotas, one bought in 2004, the other in 2007. No issues, just maintenance with both. Still, if I would have only known about this -study- back then, I would have invested my hard earned money in more reliable cars such as Jaguars. What was I thinking? Now I-m stuck!
