Coronavirus: Click here for advice for car buying during the pandemic - Introducing the Lotus Evija! It's a British all-electric hypercar powered by a 2, 000kW lithium-ion battery! It's got a ridiculous power output of 2, 000hp and an equally eye-watering 1, 700Nm of torque! This means it can go from 0-60mph in just 3 seconds, before hitting a top speed that's over 200mph! The downside is that only 130 Evijas will ever be made - and each will cost around -2 MILLION! - Luckily, you can take a closer look inside this monstrous machine, thanks to Mat's new and exclusive walkaround tour! Watch on for the complete lowdown

One can only hope that they use heat pump as heating system instead of direct heating. That is basically as reversed Cooling. I wonder if they got it right. It baffles me that for some reason no EV maker, that includes even Tesla, simply ignore the fact they can gain 10x heating energy efficiency plus even more for weight reduction and build cost just by using a revolutionarily efficient heating technology, reversing the cooling system, invented in 1852.

Every Evija i have seen so far is LHD, only reason i wouldn't have a Veyron ( Not just i couldn't afford one) is i heard they are not made in RHD. After having a LHD Beetle in the UK for a couple of months i can tell you its dangerous & no fun driving a LHD car on UK roads. Are Lotus trying to tell us something?

Hi there, Lotus guys.
Would you be so kind and let Mat drive that car for us all?
None of us are going to buy it, of course (unless we win the lottery any time soon, but it will help us fantasize about it - and probably buy Lotus toy cars and posters for our kids. :-)

car is awesome. but 250miles (on eco of course) is way too less. this means about 50miles in track mode. and recharge in 50 min with a normal charger? yikes. but on the other hand. the guy who buys this wont drive more then 10 miles during his whole life.

Apart from car I want to take time to appreciate the quality video today. I think carwow team should upgrade their cameras and post production. After watching this video this feels like it-s worth it.

a very beautiful car, you can clearly see its going to become iconic and it's very interesting to see lots of resemblance with its first rival Rimac C_Two (doors-entry to cockpit, rear wing and flaps)

Seems like they're throttling the power at lower speeds to help put the power down, then once you've built up speed they give you the full 2000 HP. This is why it's just as fast from 0-100 as 100-200

Congrats Mat! Everybody who is somebody is throwing their cars at you. You do an honest review and it gives these Automakers a lot of free advertising. Can I buy stock in Carwow and Mat?
reply

Yes! As an owner of a lotus I absolutely want to see this car driven. no no no, not like that I want to see it driven hard, I mean wring it out, drove it like he stole it style.

Imagine if Lotus make the Evija have 2 Gears like Remac, it will Accelerate 0-100 km/h in just 0, 9 Sec
CVT/1Gear: 1, 9Sec
Automatic/2Gear: 0, 9 Sec
