Ford GT vs Dodge Viper: DRAG RACE

We’ve got our hands on a 2006 Ford GT, and it’s facing off against a 1992 original Dodge Viper! The question is, which of these all-American legends will cross the finish line first Well for starters, let’s check out the stats. Mat’s lining up in the Ford GT, and it’s powered by a 5. 4-litre supercharged V8. This can deliver 560hp & 680Nm of torque, and power is sent to the rear wheels only via a 6-speed manual gearbox. It’s the heaviest car here, mind, tipping the scales at 1, 580kg. Next up we have the Dodge Viper. It’s a pre-production model of the first generation Viper, but it’s still packing an 8-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that can put down 400hp and 630Nm! This power is sent to the rear wheels only via a 6-speed manual, and it’s also a fair bit lighter than the GT, weighing in at 1, 490kg.

Bro step out like a man and accept a fkn challenge, let her feel the power too, that’s all she’s asking, it’s almost like having someone who brags about how better he is in a soccer game but instantly dives for the best working pad every time

So Matt Watson here's a thought so the BYD and Tesla are just as fast as a Ford GT & Viper over a quarter mile, so where's the gain in reality probably the mileage range is the same! It seems like a joke on Electric Vehicles. am I wrong

It’s always interesting to see what will happen, but somehow I feel drag races of more attainable cars (or more attainable car vs a supercar) are more fun to watch or maybe it’s just me. Eg can a tuned M340d take down a Gallardo

I always remember when the Viper first came out. along with it's Ram stable mate also sporting the 8L V10. like Clarkson once said, you measure that engine in acres. It did well in this race, fair play to a 90s icon!

Matt Watson is a bich why Racing people with his seating car or use car is overpowered compare to the other cars he race look all his videos and he claim it as a drag racing wins and counts it.

Not a very entertaining raceHow is this match up fair. From the start the outcome was already clear. The way the GT just flys past. The cars are from different decades. Who tf created this lineup.

Wrong year Viper to test against that Ford GT.
Next time, get a blown/TT Viper to go against the blown/TT cars you keep pitting it against
Love that GT though. Beautiful and fast car.

This was much better before it became carwow US. American cars jus ain't the same and these museum pieces are to well looked after to make for interesting racing

What an awesome head to head competition
Both sounds amazing and look great too.
I'd rather the Ford GT but for the Viper is a better bang for your buck

This lady is an awesome presenter! We need Top Gear again with her leading it! Wow that Viper was great but most has to do with the driver!

Crazy that the Ford GT is still on its Factory tyres from 2006 yes the car is kept in the best conditions but 18 year old tyres is insane

When Luna is driving the Viper, her hair was flying and made her look pretty funny at some point in the vid. (I love the Ford GT)

What this woman is doing is a brave thing, especially since she knows that this Dodge Viper does not have any safety features.

The GT never felt it's claimed 550bhp, it never felt that fast. Add a 4L Whipple, you're getting 750-800bhp and it flies
reply

Love the Ford GT but something is clearly wrong with that Viper. Each time it shifted in another gear it instantly lost power.

The GT's engine isn't even broken in. Surprised the museum are happy for it to be thrashed with only 450 miles on the clock.
