Who s ready for a super saloon vs superbike drag race! Mat s lining up in the BMW M5 CS, and he s facing off against the BMW M1000RR! So does a car really face a chance against a bike? Let s take a look Starting with the M5 CS, it s powered by a 4. 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can put down 635hp and 750Nm of torque. It weighs in at 1, 825kg (less than the standard M5, and it costs an eye-watering 141, 000! Next up we have the bike! With a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine, it can produce 212hp. It weighs just 192kg (not including the rider) and it costs a whole lot less than the M5 CS, at just 35, 000. Paul: It s worth noting that Chris Northover is a very skilled pilot. Therefore gets what s available from any bike he sits on. Joust with day Glo warriors in a super car on an A road and 80% of the time they ll back off. But if you encounter a highly skilled pilot on a superbike, you ll be toast. It won t matter what you re driving.

Great video Matt said he doesn t know. anything about bikes he does he keeps getting whooped by them lol and just to clarify things Chris said the BMW M 1000 RR Is the. pinnacle of BMW motorcycles he forgot to mention. you can buy the HP4 and the HP4 race if you. want the alternate BMW Road bike then go for the HP4 Sadly the race is not Road legal I wish it was though

2 amazing things that we can take from these drag races:
1. A Porsche 911 TS actually matches one of the fastest superbikes in the 1/4 mile time
2. Superbikes (given a very - very - skilled driver) breaking distances are not far off modern sports cars.

That bike definitely had the power to weight ratio. Very impressive indeed. However, I really thought the M5 CS would be in the 10s. It certainly is fast but not nearly as fast as some of the electric cars that are out there now.

Guy wasn't even shifting his weight forward on take off and tucking his head behind the visor at full speed Shoddy riding there!
Awesome video though Matt, love every minute of every video you put out. Keep up the top notch work.

More reason why non millionaires like myself love bikes. You can purchase a 10 year old 600cc for 4k-5k and with enough skill you can slap supercars down the 1/4 mile (if you have the balls of course)
great vid as always

It s good to see a talented rider, so we can see the actual potential of the bike! Nothing worse than a bike racing video and some squid short shifting. Him dragging knees, in slow circles, says all it all

My initial reaction was like how the hell do yu put 600hp against 220hp after watchn the video. damn. so bikes are faster than cars. well maybe the weight and aerodynamics play major part right
reply

As much as i usually find superbikes vs cars comparison not really engaging, It would be interesting to see this bike vs 911 turbo s since both do the quarter mile in around same time

So BMW M Superbike stops worse than KTM Super Duke road bike? What a BS. Carwow needs to race on a proper tarmac, not this uneven air strip surface which ruins everything for bikes
reply

Carwow used to be something in the good old days. Not today's shit, no boring jokes, no childish antics, no cringy memes, no 4 minute long intros, the list just goes on and on.

The DRAG races began in good humour but have progressively got more serious and the numbers are used. I think you should use LIGHTS not ARM signals to start
reply

The funny thing is that this bike probably has a better bottom-end than the MotoGP bike for those 5th and 6th gear roll-ons because of variable valve timing.

Being a biker myself I enjoyed that drag a lot. Could see the disappointment in your face when he pulled like that on the 5th. As always great content.

How about doing a 0-100-0 test for bikes vs cars? Bike would get to 100mph quicker but car would have the advantage in braking should be close
