This is the ORA Funky Cat! It s an all-new electric car from China, and Mat s about to find out if it has what it takes to rival established brands such as MINI & VW in the small electric car category! Upon first glance, you may be forgiven for thinking the car looks recognisable. For example, look at it from the rear and it looks similar to a Fiat 500, while from the front it looks pretty similar to the MINI Electric! Clearly the designers must have been influenced by the cars they re going up against, but that s not exactly a bad thing! The inside is pretty well laid out as well. There are good quality materials across the dash and on the doors, and there are two decently sized screens to house the infotainment system and digital dials. They may not be the most intuitive systems, but they work well enough for the size of car. One key selling point is the tech that comes inclusive! There s only one trim level available for this car, so that means that things such as electronically controlled seats and 360 parking cameras come as standard. The car is powered by a 48kWh battery pack along with a single electric motor. This can produce 171hp while it s good for a claimed range of 193 miles. That s well up on a MINI Electric, but a fair bit lower than the likes of a VW ID. 3. Phil: What about warranty? Or even servicing it? It's a bit of a gamble to hope that the Company Ora establishes itself in Europe or you'll have a big problem years down the line. At 32. 000 pounds not a cheap gamble either. Don't get me wrong I do like the design, I'm not sure about the company though.

Oh dear, what a dreadful looking car. Perhaps it looks better in the flesh? I can only see this being bought by strange people that think a Suzuki Swift looks good.
On another note, there are a lot of Chinese cars coming to the UK. Does this mark the end of UK/EU cars and should we be worried?

This car is really not bad at all. It s cute, roomy interior, decently equipped, decent quality, has great warranty and is reasonably priced. Nothing really awful about it (such as VW s infotainment system for instance. Boot is a bit small maybe but it is ok.

We saw this a year ago and it looked fantastic! Still trying to find an Adam 1. 4s they're always 200 miles away, currently drive a fast 5yo 150 psi Astra sri nav and that's hard to beat. Thanks for putting the Wow! Into cars.

Saw the ORA range at the Paris motor show a few weeks back. A funny little car with bits of design from every European manufacturer. There was another manufacturer there called BYD. They have some stunners in the range.

Interia very nice, exteria meh! Facial recognision could be used to limit your ability to travel if the government feel that you aren't agreeing with the latest 'Message'. Which the Chinese government are already doing.

Ohh a POS copycat Chinese car with a FACE RECOGNITION, Wow, So safe, I wonder where all the data goes to, Also they'll add a breath breathalyzer in the future, A must if you want your car to turn on!

Problem with that timing gear, is it's just measuring once you start moving, not from the moment you put your foot down.
That's why you often get faster than the manufacturer's claim

forgot to mention its a car that the ccp will be collecting all user information from. as all chinese car makers have to do so the chinese commie party can infiltrate everything.

32k is really decent compared to VW that starts from 38k if you want extra features. But we need to find out there reliability to see if they are good enough or not.

developed by Mini and BMW. same chassis then MINI - this is how! GERMANY OUTSOLD THEIR COMPETENCE TO CHINA _ BY BEIING BRIBED! PRESSURED AND TORTURED IN BUSINESS!
reply

Just too expensive - made expensive to force PCP agreements - which, in todays economy I suspect will drop like a ton of bricks. Lovely car though!

I have a doubt. in single pedal mode do the break light lit up. Won't it be annoying to the person who is behind you. when he can't see you breaking
reply
