Introducing one of the BEST cars Mat s reviewed this year - the Toyota GR86! That s right, Mat s got his hands on Toyota s latest pocket rocket and he s about to find out if it lives up to the considerable hype that comes associated with it! And when it comes to looks, it s fair to say it more than meets expectations! Around the back, it comes with a cool ducktail spoiler along with two 100% real exhaust pipes! Up front, there are a number of vents to give it a bit of an aggressive look, and thankfully, none of them are fake! Take a step inside and you re greeted with a nice interior. There s a mix of good quality materials and plastic throughout the cabin, and thankfully there are a number of physical controls for features such as climate control. The infotainment system isn t all that great, but when it comes with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, does it really matter! But of course, if you re interested in this car you don t care about the interior You care about the engine! Under the bonnet, you ll find a 2. 4-litre 4-cylinder engine that delivers 234hp and 250Nm of torque to the rear wheels. It also comes with a limited-slip differential on the rear axle, too! All sounds pretty impressive, doesn t it? There s a catch though Only 1, 000 units are coming to the UK, and they re all sold out already! Mr: the EU will shit itself with electrification. Electricity is at record prices and there's not even enough of it produced so there are insane saving going and still for example Germany is afraid outages. Now imagine, if everyone was electric - it would basically double electricity needs for average household

Still looking very cheap inside. The rear seats are still only accessible by toddlers. Toyota need to step up their game. It doesn't matter that it's rare, it's nowhere near as nice as the last celica.
In today's world there's no excuse for having poor soundproofing, horrible back seats and a plastic interior without any bells and whistles inside. Hell, even the excel Yaris had a head up display on the windscreen

I'm confused looking at this backup camera. Should I be happy that my 2009 Lexus has the same quality camera/screen or should I be sad about a new car having the same quality as a 13-14 year old car.
It does the job though!

So as Toyota, the biggest car company of the world, you develop a brilliant car. You pay developing cost, invest in manufacturing cost and have a high demand. But you only deliver a few thousands cars to Europe thats fine

How would those new EU GSR2 regulations in 2024 - the primary reason for the small UK allocation of GR86 s - require the roof design to be re-engineered to meet those regulations, which Toyota didn t deem worth doing?

10: 15 so here he is saying that toyota decided to actually connect the anti rollbars to SOMETHING and then used more GLUE than normal to GLUE the BODY on to the car and that using more GLUE made the car stiffer

My dream garage is Subaru WRX STI '19 and Subaru BRZ, this is the successor: D I love Subarus (Well, that's a Toyota, but GR86 is the same as the BRZ, tho BRZ is discontinued. I think)

At 13: 03 that thing with the gear-changing at the red light, is exactly what I do in my MX-5! Haha! Brilliant! Wouldn't have it any other way than the manual!

Cool story, the 86 was going to have a hybrid 6 cylinder in it, same as the Lexus 350h
Probably scrapped because it's much heavier than a 4 cylinder

Great shout out for the kakapo! They were down to 35ish birds a few years ago, here s hoping they make it back without all the royal family issues!

What's your GoPro mount at the end of the video and what do you use to drown out the wind noise but keep the engine noise in?

Really adore the aesthetics of this car, it reminds me of the GT86 with hints of a Nissan 370z. It will be a future beast.

The car costs 66. 000, - euros for the base model with no options. Thats too expensive for a supposidly affordable fun car.
