No, the looks of i7 haven't grown on me. It still looks hideous, the same as the grill on M3/M4. I saw i7 the other day and yes, it stands out it looks imposing but in a very negative way. It looks almost grotesque. On the other hand, Mercedes looks definitively boring, so if I had to choose. neither (based on looks. Good thing I don't care so much about looks of the car, only how it drives.

Both manufacturers are going downhill but the BMW is just the better car. You pay almost 200k euros for a EQS53 AMG and you don't get standard things like soft closing doors that you used to get standard on a 2005 S500 or something. Cars are so expensive, their materials are getting worse, cheaper. The world has gone nuts from any point you look at it.

Why is it that these real world tests are done on motorways. Yes people use motorways but in the real world the vast majority will drive in built up areas or in towns.
The miles per kilowatt figures should be based in towns, cities first then on the motorway.
Still love CarWow and Mat.

Cars for enthusiasts were defined by the drivetrain first, then the luxury etc 2nd. Electric cars are missing that first part. So now we have to focus on range.
That said, after buying my first automatic car, i see it as a transition. Hopefully by then there are cars with more character.

Turn everything on and do the same test, all these tests are obviously sponsored by the car makers. drive at night, air-con on, you even turned adaptive cruise control off! I bet if it had a 500watt stereo you would turn that off, don't drive like miss daisy.

I think there is a direct correlation between the number of tacky led strips and crystals in a car and the price. The mercedes was just missing an embedded led strip in the seatbelt to complete it. EV pricing is insane and styling is utterly vile

The only time an new 7 series looks decent. is when you compare it to a Mercedes EQ model
How tf. did Mercedes beat BMW in world's ugliest car? Is there some contest going on or do their CEO's have shares in Audi?

I don't understand the highway code. We know you can't use your mobile phone whilst driving, or even have a sandwich. But you can operate a walkie talkie one handed and play with your touch screen dashboard all day!

Someone needs to tell Matt that, as far as the law is concerned, a walkie talkie is the same as a mobile phone whilst driving (the legislation refers to wireless transmitting devices)
Enjoy the 6 points

It is fine putting 20k worth of suboar battery tech in these cars to make the milage high. What is the pence per mile efficiency? A smaller more efficient battery with fast charge is way better

In the looks department, May got Stockholm syndromed into the BMW. The Mercedes is extremely boring, but I truly feel like you said the BMW looks good now because it's not as boring as the EQS

As relaxing as these cars are to drive, it's ruined by the fact you have a constant worry about the remaining range. Pointless cars. Within 5 years I expect all electric cars will be redundant.
