We ve got our hands on the almighty Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, and it s facing off against the incredible Tesla Model S Plaid Track Pack! So let s see how these two rockets compare. Starting with the Bugatti, it s powered by an incredible 8-litre quad-turbo W16 that pumps out 1, 600hp and 1, 600Nm of torque. It sends power to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1, 995kg. There have only been 30 ever built, so as a result, it s pretty expensive, costing around 4, 000, 000! Then we have the Tesla. It s equipped with three electric motors, and they combine to produce 1, 020hp and 1, 420Nm of torque. It has four-wheel drive, and it weighs in at 2, 190kg. It s also so much cheaper than the Bugatti, costing around 135, 000. So it s the one you ve all been waiting for, but which will snatch the win? There s only one way to find out LET S RACE!

UK has less than 1% coal powered electricity (and that's only to keep the Drax stations burning 'biomass' woodchips - which are imported from Canada - using massive fossil fuelled ships.
In the past year 36% of the UKs total electricity came from renewables (wind, solar, hydro)
37% from gas and just under 20% from nukes and the afore mentioned biomass. The rest 'traded' with Europe.
Next year it is likely to be the other way round with renewables as the largest source and gas 2nd. just sayin'
I don't know why you feel it's necessary to make those misleading claims as if it is a 'joke' - it's easy to find out how much of our electricity comes from renewables.
Besides if you use Tesla superchargers it's 100% renewable wherever the infrastructure allows. Even manufacturing the car is headed for net zero emissions nearly a decade ahead of everyone else's 'goal' for net zero.

It's very simple, the Tesla is the fastest car in the REAL world. . you can beat anything on the streets, and then you can drive it in traffic in complete comfort and silence with 5 adults.
I'm not biased, I drive a Tesla S, but much slower S70 from 2016, and it's just a very practical car that leaves almost everything behind when the traffic lights turn green. Yeah, I'd love a Ferrari 458, but I need the Tesla style sedan for the practical side of transporting needs.

I was once with my BMW on a German autobahn doing around 130mph, then a missile called Chiron(not ss) appeared in my rear mirror. The driver of it slowed even down for a minute to let me take a better look at it, before he took off. I was astonished, and love it, I never was like a fan of the Veyron, but the Chiron is completely a league on his own.

That Bugatti is beautiful. However, Tesla priced at a small fraction of the cost of the Bugatti. I would buy the Tesla because the performance against the Bugatti is insane, as far as price comparison, but if money was not a issue. The Bugatti all day! It is so beautiful and the performance is unbelievable

The S could easily be dialed into kill the Booger in any race because Tesla is all software controlled. But it's dialed in for practicality, not dusting a 3. 3 million dollar car. When Roadster V2 comes out - aka a FAIR fight, it won't be close for the poor gas cars.

That fact that the Tesla beats it off the line and is a fraction slower but the bugatti cost 40 times the price of the Tesla is wild. I guess to top end speed justifies the extra 3. 8 million pounds even though you'll never legally be able to go that fast.

9. 6 seconds for the Plaid is off a little probably do to the surface, cooler temperatures and state of charge. Still impressed by the plaid. the plaid doesn t fade it s just reaching its maximum speed which is lower than the the over priced Chiron

The real winner is the Tesla, for sure. They had to bring a 4 million pound supercar to compete against the sports version of a family sedan.
All of that noise, smoke and lack of space to struggle off the line like that.
Congratulations Tesla.

Hiya, with the age of electric cars I think a good idea would be to include the trap speed at the 1/4 and at the half, this provide some interesting statistics. think that Bugatti would be on another level of speed. Cheers.

You have to break a few times with carbon ceramics and it brakes better each time.
First time braking steel Discs are better, but if you heat up the brakes the carbon brakes will stop way better than steel.

Honestly the Bugatti is not impressive at all. You can just see how heavy it is in this video from the pick up off the line and braking. Everyone sees Bugatti and thinks it s a f1 car but it s a boat
reply

Holy crap, thats the new LEE Chiron. thatll be residing where i live in perth as matt said in the video. cant wait to see it in person when he brings it to car meet show offs
reply

The Rimac is over 1sec faster than the Bugatti in quarter mile, Bugatti slowly becoming less relevant. Cmon Carwow, let's see the Rimac and Bugatti against each other on here
reply

The brakes on the Chiron are carbon ceramic. So for maximum braking they need to warm up. Thats why carbon ceramic brakes are not that usefull on a street car

A bit controversial to bring up how coal power is what LITERALLY drives Teslas, at least in the states.
Id say youre right on the money with that one

Yanni is such a cool and funny guest to watch
They should make him permanent cause the way he interacts with other guests as well is very pleasing to watch

The rate the Bugatti s speedo moves round the dial is insane. For a second I thought it was reading kph and then it showed the Tesla s speedo
reply

All this proves is that for it's price, the Tesla is insane. However, given a 'price is no barrier' choice, I'd take the Bugatti any day!

I have to say: the styling on the Chiron is miles above the Veyron to me. Especially the exhaust design on this version looks so great.

Actually the bugatti sound really bad. They all do. Sounds like my Volvo FH8 truck. Amazing car but the sound is absolutley not nice.
