Can a tuned Porsche 911 outrun a Formula 1 car and a Moto GP bike? You re in the right place to find out! Mat s behind the wheel of a 991 generation Porsche 911 Turbo S for this race, and it s been fettled by the folks at ES Motor. The engine has been fully built, upping the capacity from 3. 8 litres to 4. 2 litres, and it can put out 1, 400hp to the wheels. However, it s a touch damp out on the carwow runway today so it s been reined in a bit to just 1, 200hp. Lining up next to the Porsche is Liam Lawson in the Red Bull RB8 Formula 1 car, the same one which took Sebastian Vettel to victory in the 2012 world championship. It s powered by a 2. 4-litre naturally-aspirated V8 with 800hp, which may seem like a massive deficit over the Porsche but it is significantly lighter than that car. It tips the scales at around 700kg, compared to around 1, 700kg for the 911. Finally then, let s take a look at the two-wheeled offering. Taking the helm of the Red Bull KTM RC16 is none other than Dani Pedrosa. His bike has a 1, 000CC V4 engine with 270hp, more than enough in a vehicle which weighs just 157kg and only has one wheel to put the power down. The question is, can a road legal, daily drivable Porsche 911 really be a match for these two purpose-built racing machines? There s only one way to find out LET S RACE!

I noticed a long time ago that you are a capitalist, who shows unrealistic races just for the sake of money, of course the engine is faster and lighter than the formula, of course that formula is faster than Porsche even though it has 1400 horses, of course a powerful electric car should not be compared with a normal engine, but you're a capitalist, you'll release a little more video footage tractor John deer vs porsche 911 turbo s

Most racing teams: We re going to keep all our previous cars locked up in a shed where no-one gets to even see them
Red Bull: Let s take a championship winning car and drag race it with some Brummie in a bonkers 911 and hey, we ll send along a MotoGP bike a couple of racers for good measure. Because why not

F1 fan boys eat your heart out. Motofg is for the brave, real men. Lean angle at 58 degrees and when it crashes, the rider's flesh makes direct contact with asphalt / tarmac unlike F1 nanny boys who are protected by strong carbon fiber cell.

That drag time for the 911 is really bad compared to a non-tuned 992. Not even a second difference, with DOUBLE the HP. Also, Mat. Please CLOSE your window. You're generating a ridiculous amount of DRAG at high speeds.

And all this even with the F1 car having SO MUCH MORE aero!
F1 cars are still the kings of the race cars. So impressive.
And also crazy how brave those MotoGP riders are! Even harder accelerating then F1 cars!

we need a new formula 1 car with drs and with settings for maximum then formula 1 will leave the motorcycle and we need a pilot of the formula 1 with experiments because an experienced pilot is driving a motorcycle

What the hell is wrong with that bike? its so fast even from the start! =) his skill to launch that bike is amazing damn! well done Danny. the porsche is one awesome car! and the F1 sound is insane to listen to.

Let s all just remember this guy has been out of racing for years, but still just had two 4th place finishes as a wildcard. Dani is a certified legend, and the best to never win a championship. Big up Dani

I don't understand why they continue to use that F1, in straight acceleration it is one of the slowest of the last 30 years. Try with a 2004 or one from 2016 onwards. you will see that the result changes.

What this really highlights other than the fact the factory redbull stuff is pure exotica is how good the standard 911 turbo s is compared with a tuned one. 10: 2 Vs 9: 6 secs over the 1/4 mile.

Who was driving the F1 car? I think, ANY current F1 driver would hammer the porsche and the motogp bike. Look at the quarter mile time? I'd expect 8. 9 sec as worse case, maybe faster.

So what your actually showing us is that a Renault with 750hp (not 800) is faster then a Porsche with 1200hp. (got no CLUE why anyone would spend money on that thing)

LMAO that lame 2 minutes of filler at the end so the video could be 8 minutes to get more ads and revenue. How low and cheap can you get carwow: D
reply

Could this be the first of future car races/reviews where Mat doesn't spend 16 minutes talking about 'your trade-in, blah blah. '?
reply

we need to see this race again on a dry day if matt is allowed to warm up the tires on the porsche i think it would be a really good race
reply

I think tha 911 could handle also 1600whp on that race. seems really composed on 1400 and with 200whp extra F1 will have serius times
reply

Thats crazy. That Porche had double the horsepower of a standard 911 and could only manage. 5 of a second better than a stock one would
reply

I like the part where he says he's going to run a lower map because of some drizzle.
Whilst racing a MotoGP bike on slicks.

reply

there is no way that porche even with 1400hp could get close to the f1 car. feels like this episode is to promote the porche sale.

Drag racing a car that's sole purpose is to be fast round a circuit - throw in a corner, and see how impressive an F1 car is then
