It's great you're raising awereness for second hand car market. I've bought an Audi A5, 2. 0 TDi, cost me a lot of money and dropped in value tremendously. I've sold it with a big loss and eventually got myself a clean 2005, 6 speed manual E46 330ci. The car cost me 5000, I've spend, 1000 on service, bushings, tie rod ends and basic maintenance. The car is timelessly gorgeous, incredibly reliable, more fun to drive, and it collects compliments around the town from strangers at lesst once per week, my 2017 A5 S Line Black edition never got a compliment at a petrol station! I'm NEVER selling my E46! Appreciate older second hand cars people, there're gems out there!

Hello Matt, I agree with your verdict on the A6 estate for giving the best value for money. I like you to find out what company bought the rights to produce the NEVS / SAAB Emily GT which will be produced in Trollhattan, Sweden. You should of course test drive it. The Emily GT has an engine in each wheel with an output of 105 HP or more. An English company developed those engines for the wheels. It is an EV, and although I am not pro EVs, I find the Emily GT an interesting car. In fact I would take the Emily GT EV over an Audi EV.

I had an exact S4 on lease, a great car, lovely interior with the Red leather massage seats. Engine sounded great and I got 40 mpg+ on the motorway (when driving like Miss Daisy. 2018 model with 12k miles which went to auction in 2020 after the lease and sold for 25K. Thats was a bargain for someone! Got a RS3 after that which I sold for 4k profit. :-)

Those little 3 cylinders are awful, feel like diesels. Had two different loaners with them recently and both were dreadful. The turbocharged one was worse than the non turbo, because the boost in 1st on the auto box was so unpredictable. Never knew if you were going to get no power or all the power it can make whenever you moved away.

I don't think it's people buying A1's because they want one as oppose to being bought one to goto Uni in and to and from your first job. There are so many better things to spend 30k on when it comes to cars and features.

I completely agree with your personal opinion. The series started as a meme but has evolved into a full-fledged lore series with its own backstory and intricate plot. It's truly amazing how one person can create such a fantastic series on this platform. It's definitely one of the best I've ever seen as well!

Also the depreciation of the price, if you keep the 30k A1 for 3 years and sell it you'll probably sell it for less than what you'll sell a used 4-5 years old car you bought 30k 3 years later since in the 4-5 years it probably already did most of its depreciation.

I mean the R8 might be old enough to only cost 30k now, but the maintenance cost of it is still the same as when it was a 200. 000 dollar car. So if you can't afford a 200. 000 dollar car, you can't afford to drive a 30k R8 either.

If you can't afford to buy a car new, you won't be able to afford to run it used.
Audi R8 is case in point. Over 100k new. Now 30k used, but it'll bankrupt you if something major goes wrong.

R8 easily. Yes, it's going to be more to keep going, but a manual R8 will never depreciate a penny. In fact, it'll probably gain enough value to make owning it effectively free.

Don't forget depreciation, higher running cost but lower depreciation may negate each other, or turn out to be cheaper for the older car over the total cost of ownership.

If I was spending 30k on a car I wouldn t touch an R8! 100% gonna be spending about the same repairing things within a year! Then add everyday running costs etc!

problem is, people can afford to buy a 30K used car, but they're all to often not properly maintained due to the maintenance costs being much higher
