A lot of stuff gets lost in translation while crossing the ocean. Britney Spears school girl look got turned into loose/baggy socks for high school girls, Halloween got turned into an anime cosplay event, etc. I see low riders around the Yokohama area. The dudes driving them look like they are stuck in a Dr. Dre video. From the 90s. They are either really selective of where they drive or they are great drivers; I wouldn t want to have to drive a land boat like that on the crazy skinny roads of Tokyo. You go one block over from a main road, you have 4m wide two way roads.

I was in Japan this past summer and I saw people driving regular American cars that people imported like Tahoes, Jeeps, Hummers, and Escalades and I was really wondering why. Personally as an American I see nothing very special about these cars. Sure I saw Corvettes and I knew immediately why someone would import one- they're cool and fast like any other European car. I think now even having regular American cars in Japan is very much a status symbol that you can afford to pay for and import one, even when they wouldn't be considered expensive in the US.

Yeah the part with bigger taxes for bigger engine displacements is also here in Romania. 40 a year for under 2. 0 litres, 200 for 2. 0 - 2. 5 litres, 750 for 2. 5 - 3. 0 litres and idk the rest, heard it's 1200 or something like that for a 4 litre engine. and it doesn't make sense to have something larger than a 2 litre here, and for 5 times the money you are not getting 5 times the performance out of a 2. 5 and so on. The only poeple that have large engine cars have a lot of money to spend

I have a 1994 chevy caprice classic and i made a car page for it, and like 85% of my followers are from the middle east! I looked into it and i learned that they looooove 70s-early 2000s american cars. I dunno how they got there i dunno why they love them and the caprice especially. In Greece you pay 840 Euros for 2. 5-3. 0 lt, 1050 for 3. 0-4. 0 lt and 1260 and above for engines larger than 4. 0 lt. For you muricans it's 910, 1135 and 1360 USD PER YEAR respectively. Owing anything more than 1. 8 liters here makes you rich. Pretty much everyone drives small cars with 1. 0-1. 6 lt engines. Also our gas prices are almost triple than the us.

I showed my father some videos about the Japanese people who where using lowriders and he was really shocked because he was born in the 60's and he was saying the women their are dressing up as chicanas like with the hair and clothes, even though born of that race he was just really shocked that Chicano culture reached over seas

I live in a neighborhood is a mostly Latino neighborhood, me being Mexican American myself, and there s a few lowriders. There s also a restaurant who s theme is about cars from the early 1900 s. I m not a low rider fan but for sure I know that lowrider enthusiasts are some of the most passionate and nice people.

In Ireland if you own a car above 3L would be around 2000dollars a year, if the car is newer then 2008 it will be taxed by emissions, some new 3. 5L v6 would be around 1300dollars, if you look at the big block emissions you be paying 2600e a year, some 3L diesel suv fall into this tax bracket and the rx8

When i went to Tokyo a few years ago, there are small dealerships that only bought and sold american cars. Looking online, there was a 67 Mustang that was totaled and sold for almost 100k and my 07 Mustang with around 95k miles was selling for 30-40k. Their love for American cars is our love for JDM.
