Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution is the off-roading king of the Dakar Rally. It s the OG SUV that left Jeep Wranglers, Nissan Patrols and Land Cruisers quakin in their boots. Whether a Pajero, a Montero or a Shogun, it s been sold for over 40 years and even has a Guinness World Record. No joke, the Mitsubishi Pajero holds the record for Most Victories of a Dakar Rally Car between 1985 to 2007. So sit back and join James as we explore what makes the Mitsubishi Pajero a legendary 4x4

Fun fact- the 3rd gen Montero has a carbon fiber driveshaft. Also it was the pioneer in a uni-body full size SUV and as a result was extremely rigid as they over engineered the chassis since they were treading on unknown territory. The chassis and suspension work quite well together and the car is very much akin to a Miata version of a SUV. Its not fast, but it holds a corner well and on dirt roads, is an absolute blast to drift around corners.

At 13 I learned how to drive a manual with a 90's Pajero and it felt like driving a tank because that thing was solid. There was one time where someone reversed the car to a wall and it collapsed, the pajero however had a small dent on its rear bumper.

The Pajero Evo, in most of Latin America, is what is known as the stranger in America. The Evo part is when you use the other hand
