The Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro are two of the most iconic American Muscle cars of all time, but which is better. Carroll Shelbys GT500 or the Camaro ZL1 1LE? The Camaro IROC-Z, or the Mustang SSP? Which pony car had the better V8 Engine? Can Chevys 1LS beat the Ford Coyote 5. 0? This video is the best place on the internet to find the answers. Kayenen: Nowadays a Camaro is going to be way more reliable than the Mustang. Chevy still uses a LS Pushrod V8. And Ford is using a Dual Overhead 5. 0 V8 using GDI. GDI is something that destroys a engine as it ages. The high revving 5. 0 in late model Mustangs will undoubtedly burn oil and wear out very long before the LS. Especially with the way people drive said cars. Im going to both use 8 speed automatics or a manual. (Obviously the manual will be more reliable. The Camaro will undoubtedly be more sound if you plan on keeping it for a long time. I used to love and wanted a new mustang. But after hearing about that engine Im gonna have to pass on any modern mustang. Although any of the Mustangs with fuel injected V8s Id take over the mustang over the Camaro

Dude especially because you guys just did this video you guys should have talked about the 2020 Shelby GT500 which blows Annie Camaro out of the water. with the right driver drag strip and road course especially the track Edition on top of Randy post lapped the 2020 Shelby GT500 against the most recent gt2rs and was 00. 2 seconds slower than Porsches flagship race car essentially which the Porsche GT2 RS pulled if I'm not mistaken a 6: 42 at the Nurburgring which is absolutely insane. To be that close to what a lot of the world regards as one of the all-time and absolute best driving track car money can buyon a closer legit racetrack and the Mustang which weighs at least 500 pounds more and is front-engine is competing neck-and-neck! Essentially. and I bring a close race track like tight race track because that is a big deal a substantially larger car have 500-plus pounds more and still be that close to a purebred proven in constantly being perfected for years on end purpose built track car. on a bigger road course same drivers with bigger sweeping corners and longer Straits the Shelby would kill it the thing puts between 670 to 690 wheel horsepower depending on how good your pump gases and if you're doing Dino pulls in a hundred plus degrees but their lowest numbers are in the sixties seventies. And If that's the case think about how many other exotic track built the Shelby would be neck-and-neck with or beat that the gt2rs completely dominates on track. On top of the track Edition if you walk into certain dealers will sell it to you for MSRP at between 110 and 115, 000 and that's that Ford put 90 plus thousand dollars of carbon fiber on the car just think about that fact. you had to get the best Mustang ever built which is an extremely comfortable daily driver that can keep up with 300-plus thousand and beat some of the best exotic track cars ever. No matter how you slice it or divvy it up you either pay 90 + 1, 000 for carbon fiber and get that amazing Mustang for dirt cheap or you get that amazing Mustang 415, 000 because it's worth it special performance wise get 90 thousand plus dollars worth of carbon fiber for free or for a fully optioned 95000 for the Mustang 15, 000 for 90, 000 worth of carbon fiber. And best part about it is it's a freaking Mustang aftermarket huge for 135, 000 All In you could have a completely reupholstered interior the way you wanted and whatever leather sweater Alcantara have over 50% of the car in the best strongest lightweight carbon-fiber possible and be putting down over a thousand wheel horsepower there is no other car that will give you that valuing performance.

This was clearly biased. The guy had no real criteria or point system. In the 80s they really didnt make an iron duke for every IROC. They offered iron dukes for 3-4 years and theyre actually sought after now because theyre so rare. Z stands for Z28 and they did make manual transmissions. the Mustang won the 80s because of a police package? What a joke! I have respect for Fox mustangs but the sheet metal and interiors were junk, the styling was pretty weak. A 1989 IROC G92 stock will eat a stock 5. 0 Mustang or an SSP. Camaro won sales in the 80s too. Motorweek ran a 13. 9 1/4 mile with a 305 5-speed G92 IROC-Z. That car would be worth a lot right now. The 4th Gen Camaro was not the greatest styling or interior ever, but performance smashed the Mustang and the LS is the gold standard of what people put in any classic cars. The head to head tests of Camaro and Mustang through the 90s Camaro always came out on top. In the 2000s the guy literally lists every reason the Camaro should win and makes up a random point deduction. ha haThe 60s Shelby GT500s were cool, I actually think the Fox Mustangs are cool but theyre pretty junky, and the newer Roush Mustangs are cool, but theres a lot more Camaro models more sought after, worth more and icons of their generations. I thought the 2019 Camaro SS styling was way off and I think Chevy is out of touch currently. The new Mustangs are definitely more sought after now. Id say it should have been a tie overall or maybe Camaro winning by a point because Chevy small block is the gold standard. I can show you all the Mustangs and Ford pics from car shows where people have an LS swap or a Chevy small block. I have seen Porsches that have LS swaps. I have yet to see a car with a Ford swap. The Challenger is definitely owning the Cars and Coffee scene nowadays with the newer models. Dodge has been keeping the styling real. Ha ha what a joke! Get an actual scoring system that makes sense and go model by model!

Love the video until you missed the most love 86-93 5. 0 and you jumped to the93 Camaro never said anything about the most badass 5. 0 and when you showed the 94-95 mustang it still had a5. 0 yes lower powered than the fox. In 96 mustang had the 4. 6l but yet they also had the 4. 6l 32valve cobra. The 03 cobras had independent suspension. And when it comes to the modern the 2020 gt500 smokes the zl11le at everything. And beats the new c8. The fact that a base gt5o0 can beats 95k c8 around the track and down the track. The fact a gt500 ties if not beats a Porsche gt3rs around the track and down the dragstrip. The fact a gt500 is faster than most supercars is just nuts

if the Mustang isn't going to have a Nordschlief Lap because they wanted a track time that was American, then why did they replace the Mustang with a Jaguar and give it a Flatplane V8? The flatplane V8 has a terrible engine sound. No Sputter and Growl of a Vrossplane V8 like the Hemi. For that, Mustang automatically loses, good by the end. Also because this car can't beat crap. I've seen Dodge NEONS, even the non-RT or SRT, beat any Mustang GT. And there is that electric SUV that Ford has the GALL to call a Mustang. I am not a fan of the Mustang, but the Mustang Mach E is really screwing the pooch.

80s score is awful. No one gave a rats a about the SSP cause you had to be a government agency to have one and why are we even talking about the Iron Dookie? No one cares about that. Youre gonna dwell on the base model engine and briefly mention the IROC-Z without even a whisper about how many Z28s still roll around North American to this day? Fox body didnt even become popular until the mid 90s. I dont usually do this but you guys are clearly biased on this one. 80s Camaro DESTROYS Fox body any day of the week.

So just skip over the 6th gen camaro with the lt1 direct injection engine? Or how much more tunable/ buildable the camaro engine is compared to the coyote? I mean I dont particularly like either car but you cant just skip an entire generation of car especially since you mentioned the coyote, and in defense of the ford you also left out the flat plane crank variant. And isnt the RTR just an appearance package?

The reason the challenger isnt here is because back in the 70s, it went out for a pack of cigarettes and didnt come back until 2008 lol but I respect all 3 pony cars, without them, the muscle car genre would slowly be dying off. Plus with all 3 of them going back and fourth, we get awesome new cars like the revival of the GT500, demon/hellcat, and ZL1 1LE. Now these 3 icons go up against super cars

For all you guys arguing about the Charger/Challenger - they are pretty good cars. But, who's stuck it out the longest? Who has the biggest cult following? Who was usually faster than them? Typically the Camaro was the quickest stock out of any of them. The Mustang has the largest heritage and racing pedigree. The Challenger and Charger - great cars, but kinda overshadowed.

In my opinion, giving points to the mustang for chasing down spy planes seems irrelevant. Sure its cool, but no or very few consumers got to experience such a vehicle, or the SSP version. Im also (my opinion) bothered that Ford needs to make a team or go out of shop to get equivalent or better power than the Camaro
