I never really understood the big 3 when I was younger all 3 did some of the most idiotic things, when they started using a standard engine on everything they make it took the inventiveness out of the automobile and started taking away the fun of driving and the love of the car. why all 3 went with small blocks i will never understand they should have offered small and big blocks. for daily drivers and gear heads alike. GM used the 350 cu. inch which was ok but the 1965 high performance 327 was an absolute beast compared to it. Ford went with the 302 which was the most gutless and doggy small block they ever produced, they should have said OK GM you think 350 cu. inches is the way to go for your standard we'll make ours the 351 Cleveland, and dodge oh my god where do I begin, lets start with transmission, WHY ON EARTH would any auto maker not put a vent release in an automatic transmission? Dodge is the only 1 that does not, so when you put the transmission under high torque and strain it blows the seals out of the transmission pouring fluid out and destroying the transmission in no time flat, on top of that lets make the heaviest vehicles in America and put the smallest brake pads on them possible have you not heard of brake fade designing idiots or would you rather your customers die in crashes so you can save a dollar per car for better brake systems I could go on forever Hey Ford why don't you do something radical with the mustang for once instead of over hyping a weak piece of crap at the track, why don't you give Dodge the finger right back and have the Mustang BTTB (Bad To The Bone) Edition and use the 460's you guys still make for irrigation and slap a supercharger and twin turbo's hooked to an 8 speed manual transmission, I'm sure that will bring a lot of car buyers back to Ford and for track use offer multi stage nitrous oxide then have the customer sign accidental death waiver to purchase with the option

tbh i liked watching the Up to Speed episodes when they were more like this. I luv learning about the history of cars/trucks and to me it was easier to actually absorb what was being said when the jokes were cuts to pop culture references instead of Pumph acting a fool. I get why Donut's changed the way they present their videos since it obviously caters towards the bulk of their 12-13yr old audience but its almost unbearable to watch for an adult automotive enthusiast. The reason I liked Donut in the first place was because they explored the history of all things automotive that most of us have always wondered but never took the time to research. Maybe its just me but I wish theyd get back to the way they used to be instead of the show n pony circus they are now. I used to think Nolan was so boring now I'd much rather watch his Video's than James'

Bought my first mustang in 2018, still own the 4cy turbocharged ecoboost 2016 triple yellow premium. My biggest memory is when I travelled to Ottawa from Toronto and couldnt afford the hotel (was broke back then) and decided to sleep in the mustang, I drove the 850km round trip, visited everywhere slept in the car at a -1 Celsius. and went back to Toronto pushing the 220km in some stretches of the highway. I also crashed the car one year ago and decided to rebuild it myself, I own what I know about fixing cars to the mustang. The clubs, cruises to Niagara Falls, the fellowship, owning a mustang is more than owning a car, you belong to a part of fords history and a gigantic club where even if you dont know the other person you nod in acknowledgement because he owns one two.

I owned an S197 V6 with a stick shift for about 6 months and I have one takeaway: THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST CAR YOU CAN BUY FOR 5000. Looks sick, with a 180 muffler is sounds amazing, and with some other minor modifications to bring it into the 2010s it becomes a truly great car. Should I have sold it? I question that decision often. If I had the cash, the S550 ecoboost would probably be my car of choice, they ironed out all the little issues that gave me pause with the s197.

My uncle put a 302 boss in a 74 mustang and I had a lot of fun pushing that thing almost to the limit, the engine was so heavy the front end would bottom out on the shocks but doing a burnout at 40mph was frickin awesome I today own a 09 gt, and I absolutely love it and its retro style I can't wait to make it faster, and it's not slow, smokes tuned hondas and sounds like a monster when she comes alive Love your show thanks for all the laughs too

Not reading all the comments to see if someone already said this but. The Mustang II did come with a V8, granted, it was a shitty 140HP version but it was an available option starting in 75. And he didn't mention the early 70s Mustangs, the big ones. But I also understand that if he was gonna include the FULL history of this car with most of the details, the video will be an hour long.

5: 38. choose between a inline 4 and a v6 neither of witch made anypower. . umm the SVO 4 cyl turbo made more power than the v8 and they actually tuned down the engine because customers where pissed about getting stomped on by the cheaper inline 4 turbos which where also available in the ford ranger as a non turbo version mabye why it was the 6th best selling model

I've owned a 2008 v6 pony mustang, currently drive a 2015 roush rs1 and plan to get a 2020 gt500r when they come out. i can't help it. I just love mustangs and if you love American cars, even if you have mustangs, you owe them your respect because your favorite muscle car wouldn't be here without the stang baby

James you must hate the Mustang brother because you have zero motivation in this video. Compared to the Camaro video, which was released only two months after this one, you had a shit ton of enthusiasm and were stoked to talk about the Camaro. Why wouldn't you be though, the Camaro is waaaaaay better than a Rustang

You forgot to talk about the prototype engine that ford made a few of. It was a v4 with 8 sparkplugs. The extra spark plugs were used for the exhaust stroke to burn all the extra gas that was left in it. I know this because my sister owns a 93 ford fox body mustang with that engine
