Dealing with Chinese factories products is the same across the spectrum. A factory will make the quality 500 turbos for Federal Autoparts. In the same factory on a different line they will make the 100 turbo. To them it makes perfect sense because they know the market wants. a cheaper turbo. To them its about the YEN. They know its cheaper so they will sell cheaper. If you pay more for the cheaper turbo they ARE surprised but they will sell it to you. Although if you communicate to them you want the better quality turbo, they will sell that to you. Or if you spec a medium value one they make and sell to you. When I delt with Chinese factories I found this out. The end product you ask for is what you get you just have to speak their language and be VERY specific with quality and terms. You will get what you want. Its odd. end product doesnt matter profit does. Its like saying you want an animal with 4 legs that can pull a cart. To you that might be an oxen or mule. To the ingenious Chinese, its wide open So if you are trying to mod a car, you know better

As someone who's used Wu-Tang Whistler T03 knock-offs on a Volvo turbo wagon: They get the job done for cheaper than even a used Garett that will probably need a rebuild anyway. But seriously, save your scratch for the real deal and keep an eye on that bearing. If it has any noticable play in it, THROW THE TURBO TF OUT (Even if it means dipping into the Garett funds for another chinese unit)You might also be able to use an authentic rebuild kit on a clone. I havent tried it tho

Dude it's like you guys buy my search results sometimes( dont show my mom ) I was just looking at reviews for cheap Ebay turbos for my e46 build and I have been impressed at some of the reviews. The guy I bought the car from put Ebay coilovers on it and they are surprisingly good. there is a guy running 600 horses on a Ebay turbocharged e46, so I am thinking about doing it.

Even an expensive turbo is going to eventually grenade, some quicker than others, with all the technology we have we still can't build an enclosed blade fan working at high temperature that can be reliable, even today Mercedes is having problems with their turbos not lasting the life of the car.

i love this video and how it dogs on ebay turbos. i bought one from speed daddy and the shaft play was bad right out of the box. it was free so whatever. about 45miles later it was even worse and had scrape marks on the compressor walls with a /i/slight oil leakage inside the charge pipes.

Me personally I took the gamble and succeeded. I bought a 150 replacement stock turbo for my 06 Mazdaspeed 6 from a Chinese mfr that sold em in the US so it only took a few days to show up, free shipping. 2 yrs/15k miles later and its still pushing and can hold max boost with no problem.

Arashi has been one of those brands that got very little attention then out of nowhere hit the scene in a huge way. Now many a WRX and EVOs run them, my STI included and couldnt be happier. Extremely high quality, reliable, and while not super cheap, still pretty affordable for most.

Basically if you don't have a lift and the tools at your house or shop don't buy cheap Turbo. shade tree or professionals only the only videos I've seen with these cheap turbos actually made the car lose power? Always remember you get what you pay for in every aspect of life

If you love your engine, buy a proper non-Chinese turbo. If you cant afford it, (like me, then do other mods in the meantime while you save up. You can make a very fast N/A car as well. I saw a guy on YouTube build a 90s Hyundai 4-cylinder car that beat a LS Cadillac CTS.

I used to have a car boosted with 100% Chinese knock-offs, and everything worked awesome. But with the way things are not, I decided I don't want to support China stealing intellectual property and profiting from it. And I can afford to support domestic business.
