Former firefighter here. that ability to cut off the airbags is crucial. It s safe to turn off the airbags in a car before performing extrications (done by fire personnel. Traditionally this is done by disconnecting the car battery and waiting a min or two for the airbags to disable. Since the Tesla has a battery always connected, it requires this switch. If the airbag goes off while extricating, it could severely injure the firefighter or trapped person.

Aww look, over 13 years, this car has managed to save 468 gallons of gas. Versus a Prius at 50 mpg. the green car of the rich back in 2008, this Tesla would have saved closer to 290 gallons of fuel. Except the rich person who could afford one of these Teslas no doubt had to buy a second car for daily driving; which they put the vast majority of their miles on. LUL. Seriously, no one bought these cars to save fuel. They bought them for the electric torque.

i remember seeing one when i was with my dad like 10+ years ago and he turned down the radio because he knew what it was and told me to listen to it when we were right behind it at a 4 way stop sign, he launched it and you could hear a little squeal from the tires and it was gone. i was so confused/impressed though because i didn't even think real electric cars were a thing at the time because i was so young

I dont get why people obsess over Tesla. It so overvalued. They re not making any money at all off selling cars. Nobody has found a way of making a profit from selling electric cars yet. They only turned a profit at all because of regulatory credits and bitcoin. The company is gonna have to change everything about itself if it wants to survive twenty years from now.

The lotus Elise uses a lot of parts from Vauxhall s/Opel as you guys didn t have these cars in the us back in the early to mid 2000s it s not surprising Doug thinks they are lotus parts when the only place he would have seen them is in a lotus but there were parts and switches out of a number of different Vauxhall models.

While Tesla needed another company to use as a launching pad, looking back at this now, the roadster doesn't adhere to any of Tesla's philosophy as an EV. Just like all the ICE cars from other manufactures adapted to an EV version. A real EV is only one that is engineered from the ground up as one.

I used to see this car all the time on the roads in Colorado in the late 2000s/early 2010s, but I don't think I've seen one in person since the Model S came out. I still have a promotional poster for this car that I got back in 2009

Electric motors still spin, so the RPMs would be the speed that the motor is spinning. That tachometer is no more useless than a tachometer in an automatic transmission car. 15 What? 15, 000 RPM. LIke the gauge says.

Umm. okay. Ur trying to amaze mainly USA viewers. in that case why not review EU only old average-class cars? Like old Opels, Reanults, Peugeot-s, Fiats, VW-s or any old communist era car (Lada, Volga, Wartburg etc?
