Mr.
Am I the only one who still doesn t see the point of GMC brand in General Motor s brand lineup? I don t see the point of the GMC brand other than to provide a more premium alternative for Chevrolet buyers when they re essentially the same vehicles. The Yukon s interior, even in Denali trim with the exclusive interior, doesn t look or feel that much different or especially luxurious inside compared to the Suburban and Tahoe.
Instead of keeping the GMC brand, why not just discontinue the GMC brand and give the top trim Suburban and Tahoe High Country the Denali s exclusive interior and call it a day? The exclusive interior would actually be a great optional cockpit upgrade for High Country buyers looking for more a premium design and exclusive content and features, all without having to buy a heavily rebadged version of the same vehicle.

In Europe where gas prices are higher then the US, it s common to see large luxury vehicles and SUV in diesel. Some get double the mpg than petrol versions. The turbo Diesel engines can move too. Also the internal sound proofing reduces the noise of the Diesel engine. The only problem with Diesel engines is that they like to drive a lot and are not suited to regular short distance city driving and traffic jams. They work best for long distance, most diesels engines do 200, 000+ miles. In city use it s common for the particulate filter to clog up which can be cleared with a good high rev blast on the highway but a common mistake and reason why many end up in the garage for work. All modern diesels will warn you before it s too late.

Boy. A V6 with literally about the same efficiency as the engine in my 2009 Nissan Rogue. I can't believe how much 13 years of advancement in engine tech can do. Unfortunately, I still can't afford it and it still won't fit in my garage. I bet it won't hit 150, 000 miles (referencing my Rogue)without major repair.

Sir Doug, you never mentioned that a proper well engineered Diesel will LAST So much Longer than a Gas engine! If your the type that keeps cars SUVs in the family for longer than 15 years - you'll be way way ahead with buying this diesel vs the gas V-8. Otherwise, thanks again again for another excellent video.

Now i have been driving diesels since 1996 and the US car reviewers were always very sceptical about it. With increasing pressure and taxation on Diesels from European governments i switched to gasoline last year, and Doug starts to praise the Diesel model. I am confused.

As a 2021 Yukon AT4 owner I agree with Doug's comments, especially regarding the ride. You do feel some bumps more than you would expect. Interior is great, and lots of space. Not expecting luxury in the AT4 trim. With my 5. 3L gas engine I can average about 20 mpg.

Why not make this vehicle to a 35 mpg in city and highway combined? Make it as a hybrid, and with a beige, brown interior. Then and only then it would be perfect. Till then we will wait, this is an other waisted model for a full size suv.

Finally guys your getting the purpose of a diesel we have them in Europe and their epic, incredibly fuel efficient and quick as hell. My X6 diesel would do 0-60 is 5. 2 seconds and still get 32mpg everywhere.

A perfect full size suv doesn t exist yet but here s what people want: 35 mpg city/ highway, beige interior, seats for seven or eight (no legroom in the 3 rd row is a deal breaker) and good quality (luxury)
