Great to see roadtrips getting promoted, when exotics are usually stored away or driven to car park meets to stand around some more and common cars are confined to daily commute Thumbs upDid you ever try different brake pads? There are massive differences in amount and stickyness between them. 1600 miles in 12 days with that much bootspace, is cute though: ) Last 10 day trip I did was twice that, Vienna, Alps, Pyrenees, Monaco, Dolomites and back home. With my dad as a passenger. In a Smart Roadster. With my wheelchair mounted to the back of it. Issues: Zero (apart from that I had no tread left on the back wheels afterwards and some stubborn cows, sheep and wild horses here and there. Joined a friend's 2 day roadtrip the next morning anyway.

I know all about alot of Sub's in a given area. I live two miles from a ski resort in PA and if I look on purpose, I can see 15+ Subaru's everyday. Although this past winter, I saw a new 911 turbo with snow tires on it I couldn't believe they actually made winter tires for a new 911. I talked to the owner for a minute about his ride. He was gracious enough, but I could tell he wanted to scoot out. Just unusual to see a 911 turbo in the winter.

About the brake dust thing: Get yourself some ceramic pads. I did that on my XKR. Not only no dust any more, but the brakes feel more precise and have even more stopping power. About your Aston, every video its in you're always hating on it. Its clearly not the car for you. I don't know why you don't just sell it and get a boring reliable box with a large trunk, because thats clearly what you actually appreciate most.

Oh, you find 25 Subarus in 5 minutes in Maine? Thats adorable. I wish this never happens but I find 53 Priuses every minute in Southern California. That many Priuses in that tiny of time makes me think this isnt real life. It just pisses me off every Prius because I absolutely despise those four-wheeled tampons.

I would wager that the previous owner probably put track pads on. They will create brake dust at that rate. Also, when you're creating that much dust, it means you're probably wearing out your rotors really fast. I'd switch to a more street-friendly pad if I were you, and save the track pads for when you go to the track.

I really connected with this episode of Doug Demuro does fun stuff with his car because 18 years ago on July 4, my wife and I got married and drove through Maine on our honeymoon in a Porsche 911 Cabriolet. No leaks or flats, but it was a terrible time for the A/C to stop working.

You know, that is an interesting observation. For something that ritualistically consumes head gaskets, we sure do seem to like our Subarus up here. Not me, mind, I like the idea of having head gaskets. Oh, also, its Mount Desert Island, not Mount Dessert Island. ;)

I get break dust at the bottom front of my front doors on my VW Golf that shares the exact same color as rust. It likes to appear during the winter seasons especially. It's my year freak out of the winter season hoping my doors aren't suddenly beginning to rust.
