Completely agree. Sucks to have to spend 35k for a base Wrangler to get this kind of off road capability here in Canada. I had the old SJ410 30 years ago, the predecessor of the Samurai and Jimny. Such a wonderful, high quality machine. Often would go deeper into the woods than the other 4x4s could go when we went off roading, especially due to width and lightness. Samurai and Sidekicks continue to be put to heavy off road use here at 25-35 years old.

the car is impossible to get here in Europe as well. After a short period were it was available now is not. It's trully a shame, the car sold out inmediately when it was available. Wich raises a question. why no other car manufacturer makes this kind of car instead another f. suv? there's a market for this kind of car!

The Suzuki website had a countdown offering 1000 of these in Mexico. It took 3 minutes to pre-sell all 1000 units.
Edit: I posted this before I heard Doug say the same thing. I was watching it live when they sold out.
There are 21 of them for sale right now online in Mexico.

Reminds me of my geo tracker hardtop, which was also a Suzuki. Nothing ever broke and I drove it to 275000 before I sold it to a guy who drove it to work for another 5 years. And to top it off I was getting close to 30 miles per gallon with a 4x4

I feel like the American version of this car is the Jeep Renegade: small SUV with boxy proportions, in theory it's like a baby Wrangler although I think to get an off-road capable trim you have to pay a lot more which is unfortunate.

My dad has a little Suzuki Sidekick with a rag top, he just uses for daily chores or going to the beach. It's like a cute little mini-Jeep. It took me a long time to realize Suzuki had left the American market. I still miss them.

So even though it's not sold in the US, is it legal to drive here? It's the perfect car for my mom since it's the closest thing I've seen to a base level first-run Honda Element.

Is there some relationship with grateful dead bears and suzuki? When I bought my geo tracker (suzuki sidekick) it had a dozen grateful dead dancing bear stickers on it
