I remember this turd when it first drove around. Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson did a hilarious episode on this one. Making it a truly old person car (it already was, but they went all out: )
Fiat, of course, is not really known for making visually appealing cars. It perfectly fits the brand: ) Fiat to managed to make a car that got pretty much went against any sense of proportion with this one. The only other car that came close to this type of ugliness was the old Mercedes A class

I m moving to Italy later this year with my whole family and we re getting a cheap car while we find decent jobs and built some credit and I think a Multipla is a great option despite the looks, and I also like better the pre-facelift, that s the weird original Multipla, specially in that yellow/green which was the original press release color I think.

8: 00 You're kinda wrong about the rubber/plastic bit at the end.
Parking spaces in Europe are much smaller and narrower than the ones in US, and multipla is a wide car. Those things are essentially door protectors that make it less likely for you to ding someone's door in a parking lot, or damage your own door when getting out near a wall.

The interior of this car looks like the 90s idea of a modern hospital. Ultimately this car all over looks like the result of a group project among a bunch of shy engineers and designers who all had their own ideas and didn't bother formally collaborating with one another to make a fluid finished product.

I almost bought one back when they were new. Great car from the inside, just don't look back when you park it. Instead of the Multipla I got the Citroen Synergy, a large (by European standards) 7 seater people carrier (Mini Van. Great car but not without it's quirks, just not as quirky as the multipla.

Hey Doug, hope you reviewed all the delicious 4 wheel weirdness in that warehouse. Especially my first car, the Citroen GSA and how about the NSU Prinz? You have to review one of the hottest hatchbacks ever made - the Renault R5 Turbo II.

Great review. Now we want the Avantime, thee Vel Satis, and either the Renault 8 or the Twingo. Another idea would be to review nice-looking Renaults like the 21, 25, Safrane, or my favorite, the Renault Fuego.

LoL, can't believe it. Doug puts his bottom in multipla. The hell just frozen.
One of the ugliest car on European roads.
If you forget to lock your garage, be careful. Someone can park multipla inside.

Doug, I went to the Birmingham motor show in the UK in the early 90's. They had a prototype of this on a design company stand. On the original the steering wheel was in the middle. McLaren style!
