Oh yeah, grey mouse-fur upholstery. so chic and stylish! What a behemoth of a car, it must be 18' long. Gas mileage had to be atrocious. What, 11mpg? Paint job looks impressive and you can tell the owner took good care of their car, which is surprising considering how much abuse it probably endured. The new Suburbans are so much more luxurious but they also cost 60k or more! But if you have a car that can double as a house, it's a great deal! I can't believe you gave the LaForza a better Doug Score!

As a Kid born in 2004 our family has had either a suburban or a Tahoe for my entire life. The vehicle I grew up in was a 1997 Chevy Tahoe same metallic green 4x4 with a 6. 0. We had it from the day we bought it off the lot 97 until 2014. We all loved that truck even some of my family has the vin number tattooed onto there arms. Truly a masterpiece from Chevy.

Yes! For once Doug actually provides the perspective necessary to understand why 90s interiors weren t up to todays luxury standards! Usually he just rips the hell out of old interiors for being crappy. But it didn t seem so back at the time, because there was nothing newer to compare it to.

I grew up in one of these. My parents didn t own one, but my aunt and uncle did and we spent so much time in it for school, scouts, road trips, camping. It was BEAT TO DEATH and KEPT GOING! Their son now owns it. It looks, feels, and sounds like it s on death s door but it KEEPS GOING!

In my opinion this platform is the best GM ever made. Super easy to work on, reliable engines, built just as well as the squares and a whole lot nicer. And, the transmission issues Doug mentioned could have been easily avoided if you got the 4L80 or the 700R4. I will own a lot of these.

My grandpa had one of these for years when I was a kid he wrecked it rear ended a welding truck at 70mph truck was totaled obviously but my grandpa survived with just a broken foot. I absolutely ADORE this generation suburban absolutely gorgeous work horses they are and extremely safe!

Buttons were big because they came straight out of the pickup truck the Suburban was based on. Pickup trucks mean people who work. People who work often wear gloves. Gloves make controls with small buttons hard to use. Thus, bigger buttons.

My dad has a 2004 Suburban and it's been with us for over a decade. Still have it.
My dad use to be a GM guy. But after this we arent ever buying American again. Also never buying European again.
Stick with Toyota guys.

Not gonna lie, I think the Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon/Denali line peaked in styling with the 2007-14 generation. This the 1992-1999 generation by comparison is too boxy or square-y to make me like its styling that much.

i guess im a little younger than Doug but the suburban for me was the one that came after this one with the slightly rounder lights. those are still absolutely everywhere. Still this is a very nice truck
