That scares me when you are constantly worried about your car broking down. When I had to travel about 800 miles trips with only fuel stops, I would go nuts if I would have to think about this all the time. With mercs I never had any issue. Even if some minor electronic thing failed, engine and transmission was always on top, and they had about 4-500. 000km in the clock. Taxis in my city run about 1 million before they sell them off.

Reminds me of my road-trip from Willits, CA to northern VA near Wash DC (where I grew up) that I undertook alone in 2012 in a new Jeep Wrangler. I am glad I did the drive but good Lord how can anybody live in those plains towns? I felt like I was on a another planet. It took my 10 hours to drive through WY by itself and that was at 80 MPH. I swear I looked at the same far off mountain the entire 10 hours.

Very impressive Doug. I drove my 2000 Land Rover DIscovery II from Boise to Virginia and back last year. Twice. 4 weeks apart. Did I mention it began with 147, 000 miles and a slight leak on the head gasket that loses coolant outward? You should take your Range Rover across country now, if you're feeling brave.

The Aston hasn't done alot of miles so I'd expect no issues. My 20 year old ford is at 318000 kilometres and is still going, my '11 Subaru Liberty CVT is at 229000 kilometres. Only once you've done a decent amount of miles can you really say if something is reliable or not.

Mad respect for the audacity of this man to drive a luxury sports car as if it were just a Corolla. I think more people need to get on his mindset and enjoy the material things they work hard for instead of cowering with their purchased cars in garages.

Thank you I haven't been on too many adventures quite like that. But I've done 1000 miles in 24 hours on a motorcycle. The whole California coast. LA to Seattle on a train. This is such a beautiful country. Thank you for the motivation to go out and see it

Making some huge coast to coast road trip with the time and leisure to actually make detours and do sight seeing when I feel like it, is my biggest bucket list dream. I'm just worried I would have to sleep in dingy, bed bug ridden hotels and motels.

Doug, you picked a bad car, it looks good, it was designed by Ford who would never put up with the insane warranty claims Aston had before, so it's reliable and damn, it does look good. My question though, how comfortable was it for this trip?
