Doug, Of course it is not quiet it's a raw hot rod. Then you said it's not smooth Of course it is not smooth it's a raw hot rod. If you want Quiet, smooth and fast get a MB E63 wagon. How silly of me you already have one. The Viper is like a Harley, the sound is loud the ride is not the best, the engine shakes and parts fall off. These flaws are part of there character and would lose their uniqueness and become just another Japanese import. when you test cars try and keep what they are in perspective instead of rating them as though they were a different. A Bentley is not a track car and a Viper is not a family car. I think you should add a category the Fun Factor. It would make your rating system Hmmmmm oh I forgot More Fun

I used to own a 97 Viper RT-10 with this exact same color and stripe pattern. Such a fun car. I still prefer it to most modern exotics, but it's a spartan car to be sure. My power steering hose went one day and that was the pits trying to find a replacement. Even worse trying to replace it myself. There's pretty much NO arm room on either side of that engine. The lack of actual outdoor door handles was always fun, as were the laughs I'd get whenever it rained and I had to bolt on my roof and windows. LOL. Part of the experience. I love it, but man. hard to own.

So let me get this straight, you're whining that a 20 year old car had a bad radiator and a few bad hoses? In today's world that is actually pretty damn reliable since nothing else went wrong. Bringing that score up to 10 out of 10. Not to mention most people are not six foot, therefore you being that tall in a super car just tells me that you should have took that into the consideration for comfort probably bringing that up to a 5 on a 20 year old car much better than a damn corvette.

This car everywhere in North America at the time was THE muscle to have. The styling was beyond what anybody had seen at the time and should have killed the Camaro and Mustang like it was intended to do. Sadly, Chrysler has been in the background of muscle for quite some time. Let's talk Hellcat?

You can't call them donuts if there isn't smoke from buening uo the tires. Too bad you couldn't of kept it in storage, and taken our from time to time to keep it from drying out so you could have sold it forr a lot more. You might be in your golden years before may have happened, so maybe that was a good move to just loose a few thousand.

1: 04 no way you were in Baltimore, i think i may have seen you drive down bel air rd in perry hall or someone in a blue gts about a year ago, i was going to cross the street to get Chinese food, and i head a car coming and was bummed cause i though I was clear and then VIPER. I WAS ASTONISHED and glad there was a car then lol

How in the hell did you give that car a 7 on looks? You honestly think the R8 (which is just one big bubble) and the F430(most boring Ferrari ever built) looks better than your Viper? I am deeply saddened by this. I mean a 911 scores higher? Yes they're cool cars but my god the styling is based on the beetle

The reliability issues. A 20 year old American car. I'm not making excuses. I prefer Japanese cars, but any car, especially a 20+ year old American car, hoses are gonna be bad. The second break down I wouldn't blame the car. The mechanics should've changed hoses while changing the radiator.

Styling and cool factor only got a 7 in your opinion. WHAT? Maybe you got used to it over that year and it didn't live up to your bedroom poster expectations but come on. This is the Viper we are talking about. It was thee iconic domestic fantasy car of the 90s.
