That nothing special to see here motor was developed with Ferrari. (Both Ferrari and Alfa belong to Fiat) It's part of the reason why it sounds so good. Now, Alfa Romeo of course has its own history of rather special sportscars and during the time it's been owned by Fiat was always the more expensive and sportier choice to a Fiat in Italy and throughout Europe, using synergies between those brands is certainly a good idea. With Alfa Romeo taking over the Sauber F1 Team (which uses Ferrari engines, anyway, it made perfect sense for Fiat to bring Alfa back to the US as well. I don't know whether their marketing really works, but any Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio model really is a much less expensive way to buy into the world of Italian sporty vehicles and for most also a more sensible one. And now look at the Alfa Romeo 4C and 8C again. (And realise how boring an Audi TT and R8 really look)

Getting a bit sloppy with your research One thing was in the centre console. The place for the key is when the key battery is dead and you need to start the car. Since there's no battery, it uses NFC to be able to start the car. On one of our cars, a Megane, which the US doesn't have, there's a place on the passengers side dash to place the key to start the car when the remote battery is dead. It's on the passengers side (US drivers side) because the French don't ever move anything over for right hand drive markets, so it's the passengers side for us in Oz, but drivers side in France. They keep it next to the steering wheel. Need to keep up with research if reviewing cars

Doug I never comment your videos when I notice that you lack knowledge about certain things, or you misinterpret them etc (which is rare but it happens, but this time I've got to throw in my 5 cents cuz some viewers may find it interesting. The front of Alfas is shaped the way it is because it is supposed to resemble three leaves of the clover. They can't really do the fourth one down so it's only 3 leaf clover. I'm assuming that you didn't know that cuz you didn't mention it and it is an interesting fact why the shape fronts of their cars like that. It sort of explains the weirdness.

Just finished reading the one year review of the Alfa Giulia in the August 2019 edition of Car & Driver. After all the problems with their test car and the fact it spent almost 3 months in the shop being repaired, I am disappointed in their quality. I am going to buy a new sedan this fall and the Alfa Giulia was high on my list. But after Car & Driver stated stay away from this car page 78, I have narrowed it down to BMW or Lexus. I really like the look of the Giulia but I do not want the reliability headaches of a 80, 000 car. Sorry Alfa Romeo but your not ready to lead the pack.

There's a reason the sport & race modes are such a huge transformation over the normal driving mode. The car's name is the clue - Stelvio. Alfa Romeo built the car to handle being driven hard on the Stelvio Pass. It's one of the places they tested it. Doug, if you find yourself in Italy, devote at least one day of your stay to driving the Stelvio Pass. Once you've done that, you'll understand what Alfa Romeo was up to with this car. If you take the car itself to the Stelvio Pass, then the rationale will become instantly apparent. :)

this paddles move with the wheel is wrong stuff is very confusing, F1 for example, they are part of the wheel. Logitech G25 they are part of the wheel. I get if you're drifting and going 3-turns lock to lock during a single corner it would be better to have them stay in one place, but if you're racing and not letting go with either hand surely it's better to have the paddle stay in exactly the same place all the time relative to the finger(s) you use to operate the paddle (i. e. have them on the wheel)

Indicator light or whatever is luz testigo (literally witness light) in spanish. Since spanish and all romance languages share a huge % of the root words, i can easily imagine that the italian term could something along the lines of snitch light, cause that's what witnesses do, they snitch. But americunts are such sjw libtards that i can imagine some douche bag jehova's witness suing alfa for emotional distress or whatever and forcing them to switch snitch for telltale.

I think the key shaped section within the armrest storage area is for when the battery has died. You can pull a little key out of the remote to get into the car - and to start the engine as keyless start you can put the key next to that area and it can talk to the car when the battery is low/dead so that you can fire up the engine. Bit like on a Lexus you can hold it by the start button when battery has given up in the remote.

I love this car (daily use for a year now). only a few quirky things. the architects of this car didn't find the time to put front fog lights on this car. not standard and not available as an option. is there no fog in Italy? There is no interval switch on the rear window wiper. very annoying. but see it like this: even in a perfect marriage there are always things to complain about. ;-)

Doug that is not a triangle grill, it's a V grill, the V stands for Veloce, meaning FAST. The four leaf clover was put on the car by a racing driver to give himself good luck, in the 1920s the clover was on a white square, unfortunately he died racing, Alfa changed it to half a square with the green four leaf clover as dedication to the racing driver. Sorry I can't remember the drivers name.
