I hate that the Portifino and the previous California are considered cheap or whatever, which I guess they are. I just hopped on Autotrader and looked up what Californias are going for and the low end is 85, 000 for something with 35, 000 miles. (There are of course lower mileage examples for just over 100, 000 and then up from there) That is a lot of miles for a Ferrari in general. But I personally like the styling of these cars over the 488 or 458. It really wouldn't be about the performance difference to me. I've gone fast, had my fun with that. I'm a little older now and no longer have a need to prove my manhood by going 170-180 mph on, um, not public roads, definitely not on public roads, never did anything like that on public roads. I'd rather just have a cool car that I enjoy driving and it's possible a California, T, or Portifino could be that car one day. After all, the used prices after just a couple of years bring these cars down to a pretty reasonable and possibly attainable point for a budding enthusiast. It's also possible that these cars may be slightly less temperamental for some years than a bit older Ferrari from yesteryear in the same price point.

Regarding the auto-shut off for the engine. That's not just a fuel saving measure. It's also potentially a LIFE saving measure. There have been several incidents in the last few years of people pulling into their garages with their keyless ignition vehicles, forgetting to shut them off and then eventually they are overcome and killed by the exhaust fumes which were drawn inside their home from their still running vehicles in the garage. 20 years from now, auto-shut off engines will be a safety standard. Assuming we are still allowed to own and drive vehicles running on liquified dinosaur remains.

Why are critics of the California, California T now the Portofino always trying to justify that it is a real Ferrari? It's just the affordable Ferrari. That's if you got 200, 000+ burning in your wallet. Im not a fan of any forced induction Ferrari's just to meet government requirements. A Ferrari is not having to look at one but just listen to the exhaust note. Core V12.

I like Ferraris as much as the next person but Doug never mentions the build quality (especially on the interior and in particular the dials and dented console) as they are not that good a quality and Ferrari need to do something about this. A Porsche or Audi exotic and many other cars in this price range and class have better quality interiors.

if your key battery dies, take the key and place it in a perfectly vertical position near the OTHER start stop button then use the RED start stop button to start the car, but the OTHER start stop button can't be used to start the engine but it can be used to turn the car off in an emergency wait i don't quite understand it.

Rollbars are not deployed by an explosion like airbags but rather a spring loaded system. idk how other countries manage it but in Germany rollover bars have to be tested bevor being sold and you can't test a system with an exploding part and reset it so you are sure it'll work.

But the color is off From the video, it looks a bit washed out; sort of milky and orange, which is also my criticism for the matte paint on Ferrari's F1 current cars. Hopefully that's just something that the camera did and not a change in the mixing formula for Rosso Corsa.

The Ferrari Portofino, is my favorite kind of Ferrari. It may not be a grand tour or very fast car. But to me, it's a very comfortable car to drive in all day which makes it a very nice Cruiser. Other than that, you always do a very good job reviewing these cars.

Those tiny seats at the back aren't passenger seats imo but more like an artistically crafted carry space for shopping bags, golf kit, briefcase, prams and of course small kids enjoying their Nintendo Switch.
