You missed an opportunity on a quirk of the entire 997 series with that throwaway joke about the cartoon battery drawing on that panel in the driver's footwell. It's soooo much worse than that. If your battery goes truly dead, your keyless entry and remote frunk release do not work. You have a regular key that you can use to manually unlock the driver's door. But there is no emergency manual release for the frunk latch, only the electrically actuated one. In classically German overengineering style, instead of hiding a manual cable release somewhere in the dash, ve Solfed ze Problem. Behind that panel is a pull-out electrical lug. You are supposed to connect the positive lead of a set of jumper cables to that, and connect the negative lead to the door latch pin on the body. This will provide power to the car -- but not enough to actually jump start it, only to operate the electric frunk release so that you can open the hood, access the battery, and jump start the car conventionally. The manual also warns you that oh by the way, because you've unlocked the car manually, you haven't disarmed the alarm, so as soon as power comes back, the alarm notices that the door is open and goes off until you can press the button on the key to disarm it. Nope, not trying to steal this car as I fiddle around in the driver's footwell with a set of jumper cables and then set the alarm off, not at all.

idk, generally I'd say Doug's Daily Scores are WAY off. Sticker Price in the US was 185k, so the car made you an instant profit of over 300k in 7-8yrs today while you drove it. I don't even need an investment banker anymore if I get my hands on these cars, he wouldn't beat that without risk and the only risk taking this car is killing yourself in the Karussell on Nordschleife when your ass overtakes you and slams you into the woods.

Ive banged on Doug in a few videos fo dorkiness and various personality quirks, and I knew he worked in Porsche dealer allocation. He just gained some fellow-enthusiast respect by noting the Cup cars. Was around a lot of them at tracks with personnel and drivers in S CA, and even many Porsche fans arent well versed in the Supercup miniverse. Id like to see you sample a few Cup cars. Different beasts.

The where's the battery cartoon is for hot wiring your battery when it's flat. Because it's in the front trunk you can't get to it if it goes flat, because the latch is electric only. ;-) Behind the cartoon is a + connector and you stick the ground to the door sill and voila, you have power to open the trunk.

The little cartoon (that shows the battery with the question mark) is over the fuse box. If the battery is dead you cant open the front trunk to jump it. You have to attach a power supply to a connector in the fuse box to open the front trunk, then you can access the battery and jump start the car.

The sticker badge and the door loops to save 1 ounce yet they use hydraulics for the hood lid. A real track car wouldnt do that. Kinda like that ridiculous cd changer in the McLaren. How about don't have a CD changer? The stickers and loops are cool, but they should just tell it as it is.

Oloi the type of shell company to be run by kids of rich Chinese parents so they can write off their Porsches. This company doesn't do shit, how else does the company own a 4. 0? Literally 95% of their website and social media is just pictures of their cars, they aren't a clothing company.

Non-senseThe Porsche 911 GT3RS 4. 0 WAS a 200, 000 Track Weapon. and now IS and 500, 000 Garage Queen. Sad that people are speculating on these. You are better off buying and 3. 8 of the same gen (997 RS mk2) for about 200K and track it. and save the 300K for tires and brake pad; )

I find it irrational for people to spend from 100, 000 to 500, 000 for a strip down track sport car. They take out the comfortable chair, the infotainment, the door opener, the back seat, the car metal badge and replace it with a plastic patch. driving a track car is uncomfortable.

So many things they could have not added to save weight. I mean if you are going to put an ashtray, CD holder, cup holders, power windows etc. You may as well just put a normal door handle. I don't like porches anyway especially this car but just enjoy Doug's videos lol.
