It's a messy history.
The Integra Type R was different from the Civic Type R that immediately followed it, not only because it had its own pillar placement, but because they satisfied different applications.
You could drive the EK9 CTR off the showroom floor and take it endurance racing, and the DC2 was more of a weekend racer with a bit more torque.
Not to talk about the engine differentiations since there's enough talk about that separately. The RSX was as different from the integra as the 7G civic was from its predecessor. Post Japanese Asset Bubble designs where the suspension was cheaper, but okay off the floor. Also the newer cars were safer- and heavier.
Fast-forward to 2018 and beyond, Acura indicated all their cars would return to double wishbone design, but the new Integra did not. This is because it is the only Acura that continues to be based on a Honda in recent years. In my opinion this is fine, because new Acuras are super heavy anyway, and this Integra stands a chance of being lighter. I just hope the Type S gets superstrut like the FK8 instead of the economy macpherson strut!

3/4 view of rear is nice, but side view looks funky. It looks like the doors came from the accord, but front is a mix of Honda or acura like they couldn t decide if it was going to be sleek or bulky and just went with funky. It s an acura front style that doesn t distinguish it at all.
The integra could have had a different style dual round headlight or done inside the headlight housings.
When you look at the front 3/4 it looks again much better than the side profile.
Using an engine from a civic and it being a 1. 5 L is just insane. People were mad when they got rid of the 6cyl in place of a 2. 0 turbo 4cyl.
They are also not offering any real sport of it. Think GSR was way more powerful. Then think of the type r as the highest power.
If this integra doesn t get the 6cyl turbo option, then Honda isn t getting it. Make a lightweight car with higher horsepower.
Don t make another sport car and deliver an Insight with a tiny engine and electric motor just as you did offering a 1. 5L engine with this integra.

I m amazed by the number of complaints that the new Integra is just a nicer Civic. Uh, yeah so was the old one! I assume the complaints are coming from younger people who weren t around for the older Integras and only remember the Type R. I was around back then, and I can tell you the vast majority of 1990s Integras had a 140-hp 4-cylinder, cloth seats, hubcaps, and a 4-speed automatic. It was basically just a luxury Civic back then, too.

THis car is a POS. This isn't an Integra. This isn't a car that any car enthusiast asked for. People wanted the 2 door Integra with a manual and twin clutch auto
Also this car has 200 miles on it and the seats looks like crap and stained. Don't see them holding up long term.

Unpopular opinion: it looks amazing i dont get why ppl hate on it. Its a lexus honda si. I dont see what's wrong. Although i understand that it isnt what everyone hoped it would be and got everyone disappointed including me. Nonetheless its still rly nice as a car.

The whole car takes a nose dive when you get to the quarter windows and rear wheel arches. Other than that I'm sure it will be a nostalgic win for many of us millennials who had a chance to drive the coveted DC2 and be able to compare the 2 now.

I probably would have loved to buy this car 15 years ago. None of this is exciting anymore. Acura of the 90's was fun brand. Seems like Acura is trying to rekindle the good ole days with old tech. Honda seems to be stuck or afraid to innovate anymore.

Forgive my ignorance of the modern car wiring game, but how do you wire an aftermarket stereo to one of these 16 speaker systems? The last car I wired aftermarket was a Pilot, and the powered subwoofer wouldn't work without the factory stereo.

I'm extremely disappointed with this car. It's an insult to a great cars legacy when a company uses the name and puts it on a car that looks like every other Acura in their lineup. This is a HUGE pass for me. Disappointed.
