Scotty I really wish you would have watch your videos before I bought this piece of s Dodge Durango Im in deep 5, 000 I replace the transmission, both input and output speed sensors, front axles, PCV valve and hoses cuz they were dry-rotted. The truck also has an issue where if you hit the alarm it would shift the car into tow mode. So they (dodge) disabled my alarm system. (D)ead (o)n (d)elivery (g)o (e)lsewhere But seriously Dodge is a car or truck you do not want to own the Long haul. My 530i outlasted it I havent put a penny in this car yet. Ive owned it for 2 years its at 180, 089 mile. I dont beat on either of these vehicles. But I did see that you said stay away from Dodge I wish I would have listened. And honestly I understand your thoughts on BMW as well. I think I just got lucky with this car.

Great video scotty. I have to agree with you. I think you and I would relate with the Toyota engine. I have a 2. 2l 1993 Camry with 115, 741 original miles. I bought it in York, Pa in 2015 found it with 91, 335 original miles. only thing Ive done to this vehicle is change the trans fluid, spark plugs, distributor, Air filter, and 2 inch header back custom exhaust, and new set of Michelin all season tires. Mona sure does purr like a kitten. I named her Mona simply because she is just so reliable and for nearly 26 years old and no rust deserves to be treated like a queen. Love your channel. Much obliged sir.

2 more notes, 1. When installing new plugs, always put a sparce amount of anti-seize on the threads so they dont rust in place. Otherwise you are likely to strip the bolt or break it and viola, you need Magneto from X-Men to get them out. 2. Always check to make sure your spark plugs have the proper gap for your specific engine. A gap tool costs 8 at any parts store, and if you drop them on the electrode even lightly they maybe off. Furthermore I have heard plenty of stories where one or two plugs were not pre-gapped properly from the manufacturer. Cheers.

There is a YouTube video from an engine tuner shop that states there is a reason to use copper and silver tipped sparkplugs. Heat. The technician states that some guys will get away from the plug that comes in the engine trying to get more power and then they get engine knock or pinging. Temperature range should be considered too - correct? I like your info and it makes sense but in this case the longer lasting plugs can cause a problem if they run too hot which you think is good. Your ideas?

Scotty Kilmer is a good cat. I agree with Scotty when it comes to spark plugs. I once paid 27. 00 ( Canadian ) with taxes per spark plug. That would be like 31. 00 American for each spark plug. The parts guy said that HIS spark plugs were TEN TIMES BETTER than the original NGKs that I had. Turned out that I didnt gain anything that he ( the parts guy ) said I would gain. The only thing that changed, was the amount of money that I had in my wallet.

Not sure what part of what I did or maybe its all that I did but my car has improved from 25mpg average to 28mpg average 30mpg highway I usedfull synthetic oilE3 spark plugsUpgraded to a less restricted mufflerRedirected my intake from the engine bay to a vent cut out of my grillChanged out both O2 sensorsAnd used a performance drop in filter. has anyone else heard of (upgr8) performance air filters Either way Im currently happy with my setup

heat range? one thing that could be different between otherwise identical spark plugs could be that the center electrode is hotter or colder at operating temperature. why should you care? getting hotter than OE design will likely cause internal engine damage. colder can still cause problems, but this one is usually limited to fouling of the spark plug. also, keep in mind that heat ranges are different between manufacturers.

It bothers me that conventional spark plugs are asymmetrically designed; I imagine some of the different designs which dont have just one L-shaped piece of metal coming from the plug would disrupt airflow into the cylinder in a more uniform way. Ive no idea how much of an effect this would have on performance but I know being able to vortex air and fuel in through the valves allows it to enter the cylinder faster.
