I see a lot of people taking issue with the civic si ep3 being included. Im in Europe so over here we have a few variants of that model. Ive had the ep2 which is a 1. 6 with a d16 engine producing 110hp and is generally known to be economical and reliable. I had one of those for a year and it ran great but I wanted more power so I actually bought a British ep3 type r with the good k20 engine with the 8200rpm red line real vtec and Ive had it for over two years now and its a total blast, Im in love with the car. I really trash the thing around and the only thing I have to worry about is wheels, brake pads and suspension but the engine works like a charm as well as the transmission. So I dont know about the one you got over there in America (I know the engine was kind of crap having 160hp but not running much different than the one with 110hp I had) but the ones in Europe were very good cars overall.

Scotty, I love your videos and vakue your opinions. However, Im really surprised of your negative comments about the 1st generation Honda Odyssey. Ive owned two. The first was a 95 that went 280k miles before the fuel pump went out. Engine and granny were fine. I now have a 96 with 155 K. It runs like a clock. I havent had any major problems with either one (except for the fuel pump. Everyone Ive spoken to that owned one loved it. I never had any transmission problems either. I would by another one in a heartbeat if it was taken care of. On the other hand, I had an 03 Odyssey which was a piece if junk. It really tarnished my opinion of Honda. I now own 2 CRV s which are serving me great. So Ive only had 1 bad experience out of 6 with Honda. Thanks for your videos.

Have had our 2011 honda hybrid insight since it came out only problem we have ever had was faulty tire pressure sensor, battery cable ends, takata recall with almost 300k miles and still running just fine( we have it serviced regularly). Honda gets better gas hwy city. Prius gets better city hwy. We literally took 1-2 trips from Minnesota to Texas for 6 years straight as well as 2 hour daily driver for gfs work round trip 5-6 days a week. The price difference between the two was about 10k as well. KBB is still worth a fair amount that even the dealership had made multiple offers while car is being serviced. 2019 they brought the model back so there must be a market for it. Gets around 50-55 mpg (seen as high as 77 in Iowa flat land.

I bought a 1996 Odyssey back in 2012 with 119K, one owner with meticulous service records. It now has 280K, still runs pretty good but Ive kept up with the service and I do 99% of my own work. The one thing I do hate about the F22 engine is no matter how new or old it is when you first crank the motor it sounds like theres about a hundred and fifty demons under the valve cover trying to beat their way out especially when its cold. They just have noisy valve systems. One other thing that I have never liked about this vehicle is the transmission feels like a GM trans with a shift kit every time it changes gears. It shifts so dang hard its ridiculous but its just the nature of the beast.

Im listening to your BS and you make me laugh you worked on a honda 600 and it had an electric fan cooling the motor? NOT Maybe you need to go back to fixing cars in a shop, not in your driveway because as a fellow mechanic fixing cars the same time frame you state to have started in the field your credibility is non existent. I know not one of my passport customers would agree with you, sure it was not made by honda but it was a good car, many went to 200k/. and why did hondas hybrid cvt fail? because the owners never changed the transmission fluid in the time frame stated in the owners manual, they would wait till it had 80k and that was too late. the start clutch was worn out. right scotty

Dude, youre reaching hard on this one, choosing the first car they made for an example is a pretty weak tactic. There isnt a single manufacturer that rocked it with their first attempt. Look how fast they evolved to see what sort of skill they have. Honda learned incredibly quickly. All the domestics are still trying to figure out how to build a car that will last (notice I said car, not truck. Theyve managed to make the odd solid truck in the past. Hyundai started with the laughable Pony and 25+ years later they are still producing garbage; albeit much better garbage, but garbage nonetheless. Hondas far from perfect but they have left most others looking embarrassed.

Hey Scotty My wifes Dad bought this 2001 Honda Accord with 140, 000 miles on it. He paid 3, 500 for it. He didnt even test drive it I tried to get them to buy a 2002 to 2006 ES 300 Lexus with the lesser miles that was in good condition and I know for a fact were well built cars. And cost the same amount but they didnt listen. I have owned older Hondas before never had a problem. But this thing is a piece of crap the dashboard looks like Christmas and from first gear to second gear it pops. Had it checked out the computer says shift error So is the computer, transmission, or both or is it a bad year model. And it is not low on tran fluid. Your thoughts?

Lets face it all manufacturers get it wrong sometimes - but some manufacturers get it wrong nearly every time. I remember Honda going through a torrid time with their bike engines some years back. VF 750 V4s with chocolate camshafts, CB 550 and CBR 600 with camshaft and cam chain problems. They never seem to make a poor bike engine now. I reckon they will fix this oil dilution fault soon, as it must be hurting their sales. Some manufactures never learn and all their products either turn to junk or money pits aka Fiat Chrysler, Sangyong, RangeRover, Citroen, Renault, etc.

Isuzu rodeo was my first car. Considering my dad had a 1998 Ford Expedition, the gas wasnt bad but wasnt the best. I travel from NC to GA multiple times, sadly my thermostat got stuck close in it and it was under the intake manifold. Back then I wasnt as mechanical incline like I am today. so me not knowing any better (I was young. I drove the snot out of it and eventually I warped a cylinder on a HOT GA day. Sometimes I miss her. but I learn to live with that mistake, I think it motivated me to learn more bout taking care of my cars.
