Most of these automakers, spent 100 years, slowing down the speed if advancements, and are now crying, because they got surpassed, because they were seeking to repair thier awful products, rather then giving us what we really wanted Long lasting, high quality and long range People were actually killed because they wanted to produce 100 mile per gallon vehicles. They held us back for long enough, it is now our age They never learned the simple lesson, that Corporations exist to serve the people, not the people to make you profits The reason why they were ended in the past, once a project was completed, was because they could amass huge amount of cash, causing a shift in our marketsThose days are coming to an end, because we do not want to be force feed inferior products, just so that they can make a constant streams of revenue Stop growth, and dooming humanity to in fighting for limited resources

During the bailouts of general motors. the complete cost from employee wages to bring it to the marketplace was 3, 600 up to 8, 000. everything else was pure profit Remember them pulling up to the hearings in Mercedes-Benz and limousine they don't even drive a GM vehicle All of general motors would have had to do is just lower their pricesBut when Ronald Reagan deregulated things in the 80s he thought that people would still care about America in still have ethics and morality he didn't realize that people will do the wrong thing to make a quick buck. now all of these corporations in America they don't make money off of goods and services they make money off of not paying taxes They're passing their tax burdens unto all of us. I don't know I don't know anyting I just remember reading stuffWho knows anything

Since they should've went under 12 years ago but didn't thanks to our tax dollars, I say seize all the machinery & use the funds to update the crumbling infrastructure. The seized factories can be used as is but obviously some indoor construction needs to be done for apts, turn the grounds into housing for homeless vets. If there's unused space left, make all the gm brass pay for teachers/materials/equipment to give the vets some marketable job skills. I'll never get into a chineseium vehicle. If they can't make a decent end mill bit or structural steel, they're cars will be death trap money pits.

I have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe that I bought with 196, 000 miles on it. Everybody thought I was crazy. Nine years later I'm still driving it as my daily driver. Sure I had to replace the engine at 202, 000 miles with a junkyard engine installed, with half as many miles, but that cost less than I paid to have the timing belt changed on the 2003 Audi A6 Avant I had before that. I don't like the newer ones. I have a friend that used to install granite counter tops that always used GMC trucks for his fleet but they had alot of problems starting with the 2007 model year and he switched to Ford before he retired.

Hi Scott, I am from Thailand and Japanese have been making cars down there for a long long time before US in Thailand. Thailand is still a big auto hub in Southeast Asia. Its sad to see how American management and Investment are really going down and China is taking over with their cheap stuffThe Thais should have taking over GM there but maybe didnt want the risk taking over Gm brand. Chinese still have a long way to control the auto market there With quality cars.

I just want GM to die. Not just because the market decided their cars are trash, but also it would benefit the U. S. tax payers from bailing out this bureaucratic Detroit trash that's been sucking the government's tits for so long. If the government was smart enough, they would have just let GM die. The market already voted by not buying GM products. The whole company has been hanging on with the help of the tax payers.

Run-away Mary (Barra) strikes again. Her legacy as GM CEO is still left to be written (she has done some good things. But not trying to figure out how to be profitable in foreign markets and just cutting and running, does not bode well for the future of GM. The new C8 Corvette is brilliant, but I have a feeling that the 7th gen. Camaro will never see the light of day. We shall see.

I used to be a big fan of Chevy vehicles as a kid. I had fond memories of my dads early 80s Chevy pickup when I was a kid. Its what made me want to buy a Chevy when I grew up. I own my own Chevy and Im considering going to a more reputable brand when my Cruze goes to the scrapyard. Im thinking of a Toyota with a manual transmission as my next purchase.
