I Cant Believe I Did This to a Honda Element Cospitoj: Hey Scotty, my 2001 Outback has finally gotten to the point where it's not worth fixing (Michigan salt & ice is a killer, so I'm in the market for a used car. It's my first time buying a car (the Outback was a gift from my parents) and I'd like your opinion. I was leaning towards a Mazda3 but when I test drove it, it felt way too small for me (I'm 6. 2. The 2016 Mazda CX-5 felt fantastic, but I live in the city and I don't have kids. Looking for at least 24 MPG, back seats, reliability, sporty/fun to drive, leather seats, and a sub/compact SUV design or possibly a wagon or larger hatchback. AWD would be nice, but I live in Seattle where it rarely snows. The 2013-2014 CX-5 and the 2017-2019 Kia Soul have really caught my eye. Any tips or recommendations? Or any other relevant videos I should watch. 15K is my max, 12K would be ideal. Love your videos Thanks for your work

Scotty, I could use some advice on a car I purchased last month. It's a 2011 Nissan Rogue SV AWD, It has 74k miles and I purchased it for 8. 5k. Here's my issue and where I could use some advice. I think my driver side wheel bearing is going out because of the noise but Im not sure. I say im not sure because when I drive the SUV it feels like Im towing a boat when im driving, meaning the acceleration is sluggish and very random. I also hear a light noise when driving, however I can only hear it when my window is down and it doesn't occur at idle. Vehicle idles at around 500 when warmed up and sitting. Im 26, I know basically nothing about cars or how to fix them, any advice would be really appreciated.

'Forget trying to repair these things'. Had a Civic with manual windows and parked it for 3 weeks at the Buffalo airport. Went to pay and the window crank was frozen but silly me I forced it a bit. I had to drive back home 2 hours with the window down in sub zero temperatures. Mechanic 'fixes' it and it fails in short time. He fixes it a second time and it fails again. Fixes it a third time replacing the mechanics that time. So, 3 trips for repairs and bills me for two of them which is of course more money than doing it right the first time. I hate walking into shops where there is no one over 40 working there.

Taking the windows out is the Best Time to Tint them. This way the Tint can be place below/under the seal and will not catch as it rolls down. Also you lay the window Flat on a Surface and can get all the Air Bubbles out of it and not Look Retarded with a Window Full of Bubbles that distort your view. Sealing the edges with Clear Nail Polish helps also to seal them. Trying to Tint a Window still inside the Frame/Door is done by Amateurs and you can tell who did because of all the Bubbles. There are NO reasons why Tinted Windows have to have Bubbles if Done Right and you take your time doing them.

The problem with the Toyota fuel pump from an Australian site. Well, it seems the impeller inside the fuel pump wasnt of a design with lower surface strength or of a different design but were exposed to production solvent drying for longer periods of time, higher levels of surface cracking may occur. This may cause excessive fuel absorption to occur, resulting in impeller deformation. In some cases, the impeller may deform to a point that creates interference with the fuel pump body, which may cause the fuel pump to become inoperative.

Scotty: If you truly want to educate someone on how to perform this replacement, you must stop editing out the video details. There is so much that you edited out that it is almost unusable to someone who is trying to actually do this job. I rate this instructional video with a C rating. Come on, Scotty. Because you know what you're doing, you can do better on these instructional videos.

U can take the panel off without removing everything first. Just set the panel on something once removed and reach around and unhook the connections. This way you cause less damage. Once removed you can safely remove the door pieces from behind then put the panel on and snap in the window switches on.

MAN that is a ton of work just to get to the window motor. My old Jeep Cherokee was easy. Just literally rip off the cloth panel and Robert's your father's brother. Which was handy, because the driver window would fall off the track all the time if you put it all the way down.

I just fixed this for my Kia Optima. It isnt as smooth as before, I think the window glass alignment is slightly off so I didnt plug the motor in. I dont want to over work the motor and the. Have to replace that too. How to you align the glass perfectly? Is there a technique?

The window lifters failing and the windshields cracking are really the only two common problems with Elements. Otherwise they're like Toyota reliable (especially with a manual like mine. Bookmarking this video for when I eventually have to do this to my Element.
