A Serious Warning to All Ford, Subaru, and Nissan Owners (This Fatal Flaw Can Destroy Your Engine) Boyd: This is so dealerships can present customers with bills for three or four thousand dollars for something that used to cost a hundred They still don't pay the mechanic any more, but tbey do pay the service writers to sell as much as they can. And they constantly look for ways to make the car more expensive to repair, and to break more often! Because the rich and big business own us now. We are slaves. And I haven't seen any real increases in gas mileage, either. trump pretty much got rid of that mileage requirement so more gas can be sold.

Some automobile makers has given up on reliability and dependability. The customer be damn. Agree with Scotty, just not to buy them. which is what I do. I gave up on Nissan, Ford, etc. back in 2000. Now Ford and GMC has given up on making sedans, etc. those vehicle that first time buyers, purchase, Toyota, Honda and Korean car companies has not thrown in the towel on offering a full line of vehicles. GMC and Ford are going to regret it, later. This is a sad day for American with their own car companies has failed the American consumer. The world does not buy a lot of expensive pickups and SUV.

Scotty, you're a conspiracy theorist. Auto manufacturers don't conspire against owners. Despite your love of all things ancient, cars today are far better, more fuel efficient & reliable than they were 20 years ago. In the example of the Nissan VQ, there is no other workable place to put the water pump than under the timing cover. They are very reliable engines. There's plenty of 15 year old Maximas in Seattle, all the GM products are in the junkyard by now.

I had a cheap Dodge Neon I used on a delivery route. I put in a new timing belt as a precaution because of the high mileage on the car. 25, 000 miles later the belt went out and due to the interference fit design, destroyed the engine. The cause? The water pump locked up and stripped the teeth off of the belt. I should have put a new pump in with the new belt. I did not realize that that is where the pump lived. I junked the car. Lesson learned.

Timing chain driven water pumps are a catastrophe waiting to happen, water pumps fail, they all fail, the main pump bearing always goes out. Sometimes they leak slow and then bearing finally fails and dumps you entire coolant system, in this case into your engine oil, if the bearing fails, you'll sling your chain and your interference engine is no more. Ford, Nissan and Subaru six cylinder engines I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.

I have seen your videos for years. But I am tired of your Toyota rants. Americans like variety in HP and Style not just longevity. Me thinks you are on Toyota payroll. What you should really use your gift for is to go to Washington and raise hell for the right to fix and to end known failed engineering practices, (Ship and Fix Later, like the double clutch issue. But then again, we will be all electric in 20 years. New Problems.

Ford went from making a reliable Crown Victoria to a piece of junk Explorer and Taurus. Hopefully the 2020 Explorer is better made and it is except for the transmission. Ford hasnt figured out the bugs yet. Its sucks when police departments across the country are buying these Fords and some had to replace them with Dodge Chargers and Chevrolet Tahoes because they were tired of the reliability issues that plagued those cars.

You could make up a list and a video showing what to look for when you go to buy a used car. Maybe a. pdf file of a. txt file with a list of things to check! The buyer can print it out and take it with him when he goes to see the car. Some people do have the eye to spot trouble, but they need to know what or where to check. Even visually, if nothing else. I've never seen anyone do that! Who better than Scotty?

I had 2004 Chevy cavalier 2. 2 with timing chain water pump before I hit a deer it had 230, 000 miles and I never had an issue with mine I talk to a certified GM technician in the 20 years that hes worked on GM products he told me with that particular motor he had to change maybe five water pumps hell my 2013 Chevy captiva 2. 4l with 141, 000 miles and running strong

Although I am not fond of the 1993-1997 LT1 Chevy engine in that the distributor is behind the crankshaft pulley, what I DO like is the ease of replacing the water pump! Not only that but the water goes through the engine in a reverse path compared to 1955-1992/3 Chevy engines which results in a cooler running engine.
