I've got a 1999 3. 0 with 270, 000 here in FL and frankly having had 3 of those 6 cylinders with the sludge issue, the problem is with people not doing oil changes. I occasionally will go 10, 000 miles before changing it, and have had no sludge issues on three 200, 000+ mile cars. I gave of those cars to a friend 7 years ago, and he's still driving it. The thing about the 3. 0 is that it has about 200 HP powering a car that weights like 3100 pounds. It's downright fast. Then parts are dirt cheap because of the number out there. so good Monroe quick struts all the way around ran about 500 (as I recall.

Wow! call the cop to those Thieves. I fix the same thing on my car, I bough the parts and for the handwork I gave 50 to A friend of mine done in 30 minutes, That was it. THIEVES A few years ago I took my car to a Toyota stealership, They told me that they had to replace the power steering wheel pump and that the part's insurance would pay for the pump but I had to pay for the fluid and they were charging me just for the pump fluid 230. 00 I told them nope, just put the old fluid back. Then I did it myself, and the price for the fluid on autozone was? 30. 00. Thieves, Just thieves.

Some years back, wife and I bought a 1991 Honda Civic with 1, 5 engine and 4-speed manual. Car ended-up being a piece of crap. The car was originally from Michigan and was a semi-rust bucket. I would never touch anything from a state that uses salt on the roads in the winter months. We paid less than 1, 000. 00 for the Honda and then sold the car to the state in a buy back program to get older cars off of the road. The state paid us 1, 000. 00, so our losses on the car were marginal. Unless a car is free for parts only use, steer clear of all salty cars.

I am the original owner of a 2004 Camry LE, and I'm selling it, 174, 000 Miles. Body is a little bit dented from a hit-and-run years ago, but it runs fine. My son is gifting me his 2013 Avalon hybrid, 73, 000 miles. It's a fantastic car. He and his wife are buying a slightly used Lexus. I used to work at the Toyota factory in Texas some years back. Can you see where I'm going with this? I guess we're all moving up in life. I wouldn't sell my Camry if he didn't give me the Avalon!

200, 000 miles? Pfffft. I'd pay
200, TOPS! Don't care what it is.
And the bad struts in the rear causes excessive wheel hop and can cause the rear end to drift when on a bumpy curve. Especially in wet weather, not to mention weird wear on the rear tires. And the lack of shock absorption can cause additional damage to the suspension and make lots of stuff in the car rattle and loosen. Gotta change the struts, at least.

Most vehicles that I've seen with over 200. 000 miles are either old Toyotas or Hondas, or F-150s and Crown Vics. I won't bet a dime on a Chevy Cobalt or Cruz going anywhere near that far. But, GM made the Oldsmobile Calais and Buick Century back in the 90s with that 3. 1 V-6 and those things will last forever. Those might be some of the best cars GM has ever made. They couldn't make a car like that now if they had to.

Hey scotty I've got a 2008 Subaru Impreza 2. 5i and it burns about a quart of oil every 1500 miles or so and i can smell it burning oil when I'm idling or just turned the car off. What do you think? I've looked around the engine and see oil coating the bottom of the engine just behind the oilpan. Should I just keep giving it oil? It doesn't drop on the ground as far as I can tell. Thank you

I absolutely love my 2000 Camry Solara 2. 2L Gold edition, w/140k on her. Absolutely one of the most incredibly well designed vehicles ever. mine is in pristine condition with a new Aline touchscreen w/ Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto and 500 watt rms, Infinity Kappa series speakers all around. Not bad for me a guy with a 2017 Camaro SS convertible. Hahaha.
