Why New Chevys are So Bad, What Went Wrong
video description
I have a 2015 SS, never missed a service, pampered and, it pooped itself at 90k miles. Lifters failed, camshaft failed. OMG WILL I EVER EVER BUY ANYTHING with GM brand or products in it? NEVER! Run for the hills run from those money pits people. My old 5. 8l ford is 42yrs, been used and abused but hey it still runs well after 460k miles!

i thought you were gonna say 'in back, it's got a big beefy. spare tire and i was going to agree, if you own a car with a full size spare tire, you've got a car that might be worth holding on to, before planned obsolescence had swept quality out out of every American vehicle. GM is a company that brings shame to our country. they've gone over every square inch of their vehicles and redesigned every part, piece or module such that they got the cheapest possible build: metal replaced with plastics, floor carpets replaced with cheap vinyl plastic fabric, nothing is quality, if it is, it's there by mistake.

I realized the difference in reliabilty with GM products with my Buick Roadmaster vs My Buick Lucerne. My 1992 Roadmaster kept going and going until I sold it with 250k miles and it still ran strong when I sold it. My 2008 Buick Lucerne was and endless money pit that was always in the shop. GM has gone down hill in quality and I'm left with nothing but disgust and indignation. I will never buy a GM car again. I own a Camry now because I just want to be able drive again.

I saw a brand new 40K 2020 Buick Envision on the showroom floor. The VIN started with an L meaning that it's made in China. I looked the window sticker: _ Country of Origin - Engine: China; Transmission: China. _
I glanced at the engine, and when I went to close the hood, it wouldn't latch - whether I closed it soft or hard (and it felt FLIMSY!
The Salesman closed the hood by slamming it down VERY HARD. It just didn't feel like it would last over time.

Yup I won't get anything newer than 2005. I have all GMC vehicles. All over 200k and still running strong. Yeah I have changed out electrical components. But that's better than having to get a new trany or engine. This new crap is just that. Crap. And that's all of them. 10k of stuff for costing customer's 70 to 80k for junk. I have friends who work in every automotive plant in the US and they even say don't buy anything because it's nothing but garbage.

My neighbor has a Corolla with 417k and Camry with 252k miles and they both have been problem free with regular maintenance. My brother s GMC Canyon coolant system broke and shot coolant in his cabin just from running in his driveway with around 35k miles 2 years ago. Needless to say he sold it to Carmax few months later. Quality is lacking in these new GM vehicles
Tell these GM fan boys who don t listen in the back Scotty

I have a 2000 Tahoe with 78, 000 miles on it now, my dad purchased new and I got in 2004 from him, I don't put on many miles but it has been excellent for me, no major problems and just the normal upkeep and all paid for. Looks almost as good as on the showroom floor. Love it and hope to keep it running many more years. I should not say anything here, now something will probably go wrong, ha.

How to make a modern GM truck as reliable as this? Easy. Use the proper oil and change it on schedule ( usually 0w30, maintenance your transmission regularly and make sure you do TSB to switch from dexron VI to Mobil synthetic, and disable AFM with hp tuners. If the condenser leaks, replace it with an aftermarket unit, it costs 130. These are pretty easy to do and solves all the major problems.
