Scotty is a Mechanic - not a machine learning programmer. I don't think you'll need separate lanes for self driving cars. the cars will go from incompetent to driving better than humans to being far superior in like 6-10 years. Hardware advances quickly, as do algorithms. Far faster than humans. We're still in the incompetent phase, and may be until 2022-2024. I would guess that by 2030 we'll have pretty capable self driving cars, that make very few mistakes. By 2040 they should be extremely capable and nobody will be concerned about using them for all driving, sending their kids off in one, etc.

It's the in tank fuel pump/filter on the GM pickup. If someone replaced it with an aftermarket pump, make sure to replace it with an ac delco from the dealer. They changed the fuel pumps on those and the newer ones don't have that problem. It's a common problem on those trucks. The fuel rail pressure bleeds down while they sit. Also, you don't have to drop the tank to change the filter. If you have a few friends to help you, it's way easier to remove the truck bed. It's still a pita admittedly.

Scotty, please keep us informed of these self driving cars. This is a move to the George Orwellian society - complete control of the masses. The self driving cars will drive those who resist 666 human implants, directly to the human implant clinics. Stay tuned - my car mod video is coming on Wednesday. Taking back our machines one video at a time. The time to fight the propagandists is now.

On the GM with the (in)famous Passlock security system, if it is starting on the second crank, the cheap 28 gauge wires (yellow black) leading back to the BCM are probably going bad. It does not start the 1st time because the Ohm reading is off (bad wires) so, it does not turn on the fuel pump. IMHO, While it still starts, a starter by pass should be put in.

When I first heard of self-driving 18-wheelers I said what will happen if such a truck crashes into a school bus coming back from a road football game? Answer, it'll be a disaster. A legal firestorm, with everyone suing everyone and every entity each playing pass the buck to avoid getting clobbered with a huge wrongful death judgement. But someone's gonna get nailed.

That's okay about not driving Fords. The E-brake in my 1998 Cobra mustang failed, I got dragged down a hill, had my life changed forever, ultimately disabled and Ford had a good laugh at my expense as they joked about my situation telling me to sue them if I didn't like it. Never get into a Ford. Because of them I'll never trust anything or anyone ever again.

Hey Scotty, have you heard about there being government regulation to have all new cars have some sort of wireless communication, possibly utilized to communicate with other vehicles and thus creating a newtwork. I was told this by an IT guy who works in networking. Don't really what the main purpose would be, possibly big brother keeping tabs on us?

Ford lost the plot 20 years ago. Living in the UK, it''s the Focus that every robot drives. Ok they are cheap, mass produced vehicles with zero passion, but then again, that's what Ford have been pushing to the UK Ford Lemmings for the best part of 30 years. We in the UK need a massive wake up call and look around to the far superior options.

Gotta say the title was misleading but anyhow i have a ford fiesta st line and it's been great but now Ford just make ugly cars and it just proves the German's are best at making good-looking cars, I can't even think of one German car that's ugly to be honest, the Germans are far too ahead and also are in terms of reliability and performance
