#1 Doing This Will Destroy Your Car Jerry Rounds: Scotty is wrong. You can tow automatics up to and including 2014 Honda CRV, either 2wd or 4wd Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain, Ford Edge, Saturn VUE, etc. Each year Motor Home Magazine publishes a list of cars that can be towed 4 wheels down. The number of cars has been dwindling over the years. However, there are still automatics that can be towed as long as you follow the owners manual. I have personally towed: 2008 CRV, 2014 CRV, and a 2016 V6 AWD Chevy Equinox many trouble free miles behind my motor home.

Good morning Scotty, I have to rebut your first answer, or at least go into a bit more detail. Not all automatic vehicles are the same. There are a few 4 wheel drive vehicles out there that can be flat towed safely for long distances. One example would be the 19946-2004 Land Rover Discovery II, the D2 has a shift lever that allows one to go between 4 high, neutral and 4 low. The best thing about this is that when the shaft selector is in neutral it disengaged the propeller shaft from the transmission. The axles and shaft spin as they normally would as if they were being driven by the engine but there's no connection to the transmission at all. In fact I can tow mine with the transmission selector put in park (recommended by Land Rover)The caveat here is that the D2 is a HEAVY suv and requires a higher rated tow bar and a assisted brake setup(required by law for vehicles over a specific weight. Of which I have both. And I'm able to tow it behind a 1984 Holiday Rambler that uses the Chevy P30 chassis, engine and tranny. Fun to drive.

Scotty I watch your videos all the time, I financed a 2018 Ford escape base model 2. 5 Liter 4 cylinder Auto tranny. 24, 000 miles on it so far. I have been giving it regular oil changes every 4-5, 000 miles at the dealer. What is your advice to make the thing last 200-300, 000 miles like a Toyota would, I know you like them but don't talk much about Ford escapes. I owe 22, 000 on it financed. Would love to trade in for a Toyota but im too upside down KBB value is at 12, 000 Any recommendations to make this last for me? Thanks in advance and please keep up the honest videos Thanks Alex-

I've been through the desert in a car with no nameIt felt good to be out of the rainGM probably counted their beans before they decided to drop the names. You have to produce different grilles and badges etc, like they did in the earlier years which drives up the price. ( Chevy and Pontiac ) for so many years. Also a good marketing tactic to take something away, and then bring it back as something special.

Hey Scotty, lov your Vblog. But I do need to point out, Honda uses the Earth Dreams badge on almost all their car engines, not just the newer CRV and Civic engines with Turbos. Honda has been using name for about 8 years now. But I would agree, I personally would avoid the Honda Turbos for long team ownership, lease maybe. This coming fromsomebody who is very pro Honda.

Scotty, you can tow an automatic transmission vehicle without any problems. Well, at least I know of one type of vehicle that you can tow. The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4 Quadratrack. You need to put the transfer case into neutral N, and then you can tow the vehicle without any problems, as the transmission is disengaged.

I have a 2005 Honda Civic A/T that has been towed wheels down for many miles behind a motor home. Never had a problem with the transmission. We even asked Honda if it was okay before we started and they said yes. Just start it, place it in drive for a minute, then shift to neutral and turn the car off.

Eh Scotty, don't you think it's time that you designed and built your own vehicle, and then take it to market? I know that i and many more of us would buy from you because we know what we would be getting. The perfect car Thanks for the years of help keeping our cars rolling down the long and winding road.

Scotty I have a 94 lincoln with the aod e transmission. it always had a shudder going into 4th, sounds just like running over rumble strips on the road. Can I try synthetic trans fluid without damaging the tranny? Car has about 56000 miles & i, m going to change the fluid & filter myself.
