get a Lexus Well thats what I thought, however, my brand new Lexus NX200t which I got back in 2016 winter had: 1. replaced the whole headlight compartments TWICE (Severe water condensation)2. replaced both fog lights (Same issue)3. replaced sunroof and its tracks, TWICE (Severe rattles and vibrations, whenever you drive through a bump it sounds like a 1997 rusty Durango falling apart, Lexus claimed that the tracks were defective)4. replaced tailgate parts (Again, severe rattles)Things that need to be fixed: 5. The Shifterhas been giving us a hard time when shifting into reverse6. Jerky gearbox (Noticeably jerky compared to the past)7. Memory seat setting is completely malfunctioning8. The backup camera is loosened. Thus the angle keeps going lower and lower (Dealership claimed that its not fixable)The first 4 incidents happened within the first year. It is so far the most troublesome luxury car weve ever owned. I love my Lexus, but would I get another Toyota/Lexus? I dont think so. Would I recommend it to my friends? Absolutely not.

Oh the Subaru boxer engine known for blowing head gaskets. Great recommendation. Want a sporty car dont buy a Toyota when they sell one they have to get someone else to make it for them. Complaining about electronics and plastic on VWs while every car manufacturer is doing the same. My advice as a Auto Technician, do your research get the car you want. All manufactures have there problems Yes you can avoid certain options like CVT sunroofs and so on to make sure your car is more reliable. The MK7 GTI has a good reliability history and its widely considered the best bang for buck car on the road. Also you can get a DSG transmission which is a auto stick basically very good in the VW and reliable huh crazy. We mechanics have jobs because cars break down thats what they do.

Its not that the Audi or Vws are bad cars, One problem is the lack of training at the dealership level. And if you take it to most anyone other than the dealer, you risk ruining the car forever. There are a few weak points that are common on VWs, but if you understand that and have the repairs performed these cars can last for many years and many smiles per mile. Toyotas are probably the longest lasting vehicle on the road, but they are just too Vanilla for me and Ive never driven one that was comfortable. I think VWs and Audis are also much safer and give you the ability to better prevent accidents and come out in better condition if youre involved in one. Thank you for the Video Scotty, Charles

What people DONT realize about German cars let alone ANY car: #1 If you maintain like youre supposed to than itll take care of you #2 Dealerships offer coupons and memberships for people that own German card that cut thr prices off by 30-59%#3 German cars often last just as long or if not longer than American cars#4 Engine models determine reliability. Fyi, probably the reason why VW put that 2. 0 in the Golf #5 I owned a 16yr old 02 Audi A4 with no problems except electric (theyre notorious for that) but it never broke down on me once. I got it at 142k miles and left it at 174k miles. Was a 1. 8T. Again, do research before bashing these cars. Every car has their own issues.

I have several friends with skoda octavias, seats, vws, and audis, most of them have 1. 9tdi and some of them have 1. 8T. litterally NONE of them complained their cars are unreliable. My closest friend that has the octavia has 450k miles on the clock and he only had one major breakdown when the radiator was hit by a rock and started leaking while on a road trip. Hopped into the closest shop, got a new rad fitted, new coolant and off to the road again and got home after 1600 miles of driving. There is a general rule if you want a long lasting car: Buy one thats manufactured before 2008. Most cars from that point forward had issues, especially german cars.

Lolol the GTI 7. 5 have been out for how long? How can you claim you know its not advisable to buy one, if you cant proove you know them better? To be able to reason, you have to put things in relation to one another which means compare it in depth to some other car, or explain why some other thing in other car works better in other car & why. And how big is the chance you acually do know why we should stay away from a new GTI, since you mostly seem to complain bout the electronics? Reality check: its the same for every new car electronics. Theres seems to be alot of jibberisch here, but i suppose its for entertainment purposes?

It needs to be mentioned on your videos that the advice you give is for Americans driving the said car in America because you speak about Volkswagens quality reducing every year yet in the UK over 50k VW Golfs have been sold (2018 model) this year and sales are increasing every year. I understand you live in USA and i should assume your advice is for Americans but you slag off companies with a bias opinion because somehow Toyota is the dogs bollocks and everyone should own one. I actually think you give great car repair and maintenance advice and i enjoy your videos, just an issue that needed addressing. :)

The reason I like VW even though I dont own one is that a real manual transmission is still an option in almost all of their models. At least it was up until pretty recently and I think it still is. I still want a manual GTI for my weekend car. I drive my Silverado all week and only put a few thousand miles a year on my car. I think I put 5k on it in the last 2 and a half years. LOL. I think I might get a used one and hope that the few miles I put on it will be cheap. Ill keep it for a couple of years and get rid of it.

This guy knocked 5 cylinder engines. He couldnt be more wrong. I have a 1994 Audi S4 with a 20 valve 5 cylinder power plant which is legendary. There is even a video of one going 242 mph at the salt flats on quattro world. Mine has 232, 000 original miles with original clutch and original aternatorr. I just replace the original starter. This car is 24 years old. As far as VW/Audi I was talking to a shop foreman at Toyota which i own 2. He said that Audis are one of the best built car and just below Toyotas.
