Brightline is a brand new higher speed passenger train service that connects the south Florida cities of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach with an eventual planned expansion to Orlando. It is the first new privately operated intercity passenger rail service in the United States in many years. The trains are all new sets of locomotives and cars built by Siemens Mobility in Sacramento, California. Recently, the service has been renamed to Virgin Trains USA. In this video, we will watch several Brightline passenger trains as they fly down the mainline carrying commuters and leisure travelers to their destinations in what has in recent years become one of the highest population density regions in the country

good to see Brightline building the LA to Vagas line. again 125 mph. if they wee to extend that up to Salt Lake city that would be something too. Us is now doing what other countries have done but they need to get together so that the entire country benefits rather than some states. If they increase their local lines, get people back on the tracks; who knows where the first intercontinental line might be. would have to be purpose built but could really complete with the airlines. France proved it first and then Eurostar has taken 60% of the business traffic on the London to Paris route.

The way they are building this line is well thought out as it is sections, people can see the benefits of the West Palm to Miami and are now wanting brightline to stop at their communities. When it expands to Orlando and Tampa then it will take off. I have already seen the positive impact on my friends who use to commute to Miami and they will never drive in again, one even comes in from Jupiter to West Palm.

could Congres allow private companies like virgin train USA to take over some of Amtrak's shorter routes like Chicago to Milwaukee thereby no longer meeting tax dollars the companies can bring in their own trains and use existing tracks thinking also Cover the cost upgrading tracks two double tracks if needed no tax dollars this will allow Amtrak to focus more on their long distance routes

Really nice looking train sets; I like push-pull mode. I would love to see trains of this nature operating across Pennsylvania, and west into Ohio. Reasonably fast trains that are fairly frequent, but most importantly, punctual, is what-s needed. I wish there was a train like this going from Wheeling, WV To Athens, OH!

Nice to see these modern trains in the US -I am a uk trainwatcher, i imagine that speeds will increase in the future. I think electrification wont happen because of track sharing with Double stackers, how tall would a pantograph have to be!
Good luck USA you may get a modern transport system yet!

Harvey, yes fare point so does this leave the way for 3rd rail dc to make a come back. it's a bit out of fashion but where the line is at risk from weather it can prove very useful. especially now that the outside 3rd rail can be partially covered as is done in Germany.

with the airport line scheduled to open next year that will bring Orlando to Miami 3hrs that's good 125 mph but just think how much faster it could have been with dedicated high speed lines, without the crossings potentially 200 mph

Much as i support the fact that the us is finally embracing high speed trains It is disappointing that they are still diesel and not overhead electric as is the trend throughout the rest of high speed world.

Seems odd that there are two locomotives for only four rail cars. Those locomotives are about as powerful as the ones used for GO Transit commuter rail, but they use one for 10-12 bi-level coaches.

Let's talk about the elephant in the room no one has seemed to mention. What are the fares? When its' complete, how much is it from Miami to Orlando, and points in between?
